Sandals Montego Bay: Sandals All-Inclusive Resort

Impeccable Hospitality and the most friendliest people on the planet! 1st time travelers to Jamaica celebrating an Anniversary. We are an older couple (age wise) who are accustomed to RVing. We love to interact with everyone... Not hard partiers, but do like to play. This particular resort, Sandals Montego Bay, was for a very young crowd so we were told. However, so we were not bored out of our wits, we decided to stay there. We wanted excitement and where some fun was bound to take place. So glad we did! You step off the plane, immediately offered cocktails which you take with you on your ride to Sandals Montego Bay, get your tickets to your luggage and your off. We met a couple on the bus by toasting our glasses as we boarded our transportation to the resort. Ended up hanging with them most of the time. Now we have friends in S.C. too! The resort is literally down the street from the airport. We were at Sandals Montego Bay before most others even got thru the red light at the airport toward their destination. Hahaha.. We took the "bus" (and were "offered" interesting paraphanalia...lol) and then headed down the outside of airport fence line to the resort. Yes, it is that close. You do have planes coming overhead, but the staff make it so much fun. It is like a game.... You almost want to reach out and touch them! Actually, it is quite awesome to experience the sensation of such a huge bird! Greeted at the front steps, you are wisked away to the lobby for checkin. They have it all planned so you do not wait. Again, you are already offered drinks and snacks... and thus begins the never ending beverage/snack binging! Whoo Hoo!!

Unique Quality: We thought we wanted to be upgraded to a room by the jacuzzi area.... NOT! We loved our room. A couple we met were upgraded, but it was so far away (and too quiet an area for us) from the main beach and party area we were happy to have kept our room. We could walk out our back sliding doors and the sand was at our toes! Our couple friends were always at the beach and we could see everyone and everything from our small porch. So we could sit and watch if we did not want to walk down to the water.... Our neighbors were a very young couple who came to celebrate some friends getting married... They were partiers, but were soooo funny and friendly...So all was good with us. This place has a way of getting the most unexcitable person to laugh and play! The rooms do not have an air outlet in the restrooms.... The vent is the window way up high on the wall. It is so pleasant to take a shower in the au naturale air.... If you need the a/c, you can open the door and allow it in....we never needed it.. Outside the window vent, you could hear the birds chirping and singing. They seemed to know when the water turned on_lol. The rooms are cleaned daily and tho they are not the newest or glamourous rooms on the planet, they were so clean, tidy and colorful we did not even notice. We took a standard room and it was quite large compared to even hotel rooms. Very roomy for the two of us.... There were always new "flowers" or a "bird" or design made out of our towels with flowers on the bed to welcome us back each day! These people have so much natural talent! They always reminded us we have "No Problem mon" in comparison.

Jamaicaoceanviewvilla: Quality accommodation and exceptional service

We spent a wonderful week at Ocean View Villa . We were a relatively large group(14) and the house fit us very comfortably. Millicent and Lindo made us feel completely welcome and went out of their way to help us out during our stay. The rooms were all very clean with comfortable beds, clean linens, own private bathrooms and an amazing view of the ocean. I am extremely particular about cleanliness and it met my expectations. The kitchen is equipped with everything necessary to cook a nice meal and huge dinning room to enjoy. We spent many fun hours by the pool, in the family room, the recreation room and even on the beautiful front porch! My favorite part of the house was the elevated deck and back porch, where we could all eat, drink together with the beautiful views of the water as a backdrop. Though there were days that we were quite happy to spend the entire day enjoying the house, the location was such that we were still able to travel quite a bit around the island. We felt completely at Home , We would really recommend Ocean View to anyone looking to vacation in the Ocho Rios area. " and will be returning again soon.

RIU NIGRIL: NEW HOTEL (2004)

Babashak: Jamaica B&B Best on North Shore

Home-like, informal B&B directly on the beach. (Though beach is somewhat narrow.) Large, truly clean rooms, superb food. Carla and Dave and their kids became like family. Interesting other guests and diners made our three nights fun. Even though rates are near-bargain, there are some better-than-usual details. Highly recommend for real travellers.

Unique Quality: We arrived tired and hungry at 8:00 pm. Carla made us a wonderful fish dinner in no time, and served it at a lantern-lit table above the beach. Lots to do in the area, including the remarkable Cranbrook Flower Forest.
