The Tree House is a great small resort. What is so cool about the rooms is that on the second floor, you really feel like you're in a tree house, The ceiling is arched and the beams run diagonal like a tree house. The rooms are equipped with full bathrooms, ac, tv, fans, phone and ample furniture.
The Tree House front desk is very helpful with booking cabs or tourist events for you and will exchange your money at the standard rate.
The pool is small and the beachfront bar is small. When I was there, the hot tub was not working....errr. Jet skis can be rented on the premises, an extensive breakfast is served daily and the bar has barfare. The beach is clean with plenty of chairs but the immediate coast is rocky for swimming. Walk a few feet to the neighboring beach.
If you want to stay at the Ritz, this ain't it. If you want a clean place with a comfortable bed to sleep in, great beach and great location at a very reasonable price, the Treehouse is a good choice. In addition to a nice clean room with a very large shower, the grounds are beautiful, and they offer a very tasty Jamaican breakfast each morning. The beach location is terrific. If you want to enjoy a romantic view of the sunset, the deck where they serve breakfast was always deserted at sunset and a great place to take it in from.
In addition to rotating Jamaican fair, great fruit and blue montain coffee, they have custom made omelets for breakfast each morning.
Negril Tree House Resort was like home away from home. Everyone there is sooo friendly. I felt very safe there. My friends and I upgraded to a suite which was very beautiful. It is wonderful to go somewhere and feel comfortable. Mr. Miller was very helpful to us. The buffet style breakfast had alot of options. I will definitely stay at Negril Tree house again. You can schedule water activities right at the front desk. For nightlife go to the Jungle. Lots of fun. Not to far from the resort but not walking distance. Margaritaville is walking distance though. Negril Tree house resort was a great choice, please consider.
The Negril Treehouse Resort instantly became an excellent choice of non-inclusive hotels for me and my two friends. We had to make a hotel decision based solely on ammendities and price, and to our pleasent surprise, we received so much more. The resort is kept clean, beautiful, and well laid out. Everything from their rooms to their pool to their restaurants/bar to their lobby was first class, cozy, and well tended. The staff was incredibly helpfull, professional, and attentive -- always making sure their guests were content (yet always respecting your privacy). What impressed me the most was their high regard for safety. There was certainly a sense of pride in all the staff. Most of all, I always felt that they were looking out for me.
And if you're interested in taking a boat ride without feeling like a "tourist" jammed on one of those large party boats, I can't say enough about Dr. Bill's Glass Bottom Boat service and crew. Captain Zafia and Little Jimmy provided us with an ocean experience that won't be forgotten. They too were professional and attentive.
If I ever have the privilege of visiting Jamaica again, there will be no question that I will stay at the Negril Treehouse Resort. The grounds, the staff, and the management all receive a 10 in my book. I highly recommend this resort as a place to stay whether or going with family, children, or just friends.
We did a day trip to the treehouse and let me tell you, i have NEVER seen water as beautiful as there. The cottages were absolutely romatic looking!!!!! Did the most wonderful snorkeling right off the beach, surrounded by HUNDREDS of fish(school of them) saw lots of stingrays and angel fish. ALL KINDS OF FISH! All i can say is WOW! The pictures posted do not do this place justice. It's beautiful.
My husband, my twin sister & her husband stayed at the Tree House for the New Year weekend 2005-2006 and it was smokin!!!! This was our second trip, we stayed in Braco, Grand Lido last time. We hired a private mini-bus from the Mo'Bay Airport to Negril with Lebert Watson (he is reliable, on time, & a very nice man) who I would highly recommend. If interested, his email is --------. We are used to All-Inclusives, but, we got by without all the free drinks and food. The Tree House has a full buffet breakfast from 8:00 to 11:00 which was great after a night out partying. The beaches in Negril are best. The Tree house is a bit laid back compared to other resorts. None of us had any problems with anything at the Tree house. FYI-the local beach vendors are aggressive, so, be wary, but, you can have fun with them too.
We stayed here Feb 13 - Feb 21. The hotel was fine - reminds you of a resort you might have found in the states 30 years ago - not necessarily bad just dated. This seemed to be the case with many of the resorts along the beach. Not complaining just observing. It was fine for us as we spend most of our time laying on the beach which was nice although not very large but never crowded. In the past we have stayed at CocoLaPalm and Couples Negril. CocoLaPalm has a much wider beach and of course Couples is an all-inclusive and very nice. We found the people there nice but not overly friendly but we did not go out of the way either. Very much enjoyed dinners at Norma's (2), Kuyaba, and Rockhouse and although these are some of the nicest places the prices were comparabe to nice places in the states - $15-$25. Rockhouse and Kuyaba will pick you up and Norma's is right next door. The complimentary breakfast was very good. By the way we didn't have any trouble with overly aggresive vendors. We used Clive's Transportation and were very happy with his service and price.
I highly recommend when visiting Negril that you do not stay in an all-inclusive resort. The riches of Jamaica, as with all countries, lie in the downtown and local joints.
Our hotel, The Negril Tree House, was right in the middle of the beach action. We enjoyed a fantastic breakfast every morning form the roof of the hotel...definitely try some calilou and ackee, very good! Everything tastes even better when followed by a Red Stripe.
The highlights of my trip included meeting some great guys from South Boston and joining them and a few locals out on the town for incredible nightly reggae performances at the local joints.
I do not recommend horse back riding excursions that are based in Negril. The sites during our four hour trip included alot of refuse along the hillside. It was enjoyable in that we rode through the neighboring villages and saw some historic landmarks, but overall, not worth the aches and pains the following day.
