Can I live here please?!!
I got to stay one night (only one night boo!). We arrived at night and left after breakfast. I did think about having a sit in protest - but felt that my boss back in the UK may not be pleased!!
I loved the styling of the rooms, the bathrooms were gorgeous, the view from the picture window stunning. I loved the fact that there is no TV in the room, that the louvered shutters can be opened to get a breeze. I loved the attention to detail, sandwiches and fruit left for us in the room, great bathrobes.
I loved the breakfast, fruit cut to order, yummy local foos alongside the usual standards.
But I loved the infinity pool most of all... I went for a swim at 23:00 as I knew I wouldn't have time before leaving the next day. It was illuminated, a great temperature and wonderfully relaxing.
Unique Quality: Please see above!!
The reading room.
The bar - wow the photos are increadible, lots of great black and white shots of customers (some famous).
I also liked the staff photo board where long serving staff are recognised, a nice touch. I also got to see in a villa, they are all decorated differently, but are lovely.

GREAT!!!!! and BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!
Steeped in the traditions of hosting decades of the talented and the successful, Round Hill welcomes guests with a style that is only born of good taste and long experience.
Originally opened in 1953, Round Hill was conceived by well known Jamaican entrepreneur, John Pringle, whose mother owned and operated the former Sunset Lodge Hotel in Montego Bay. The 100-acre peninsula was part of Lord Monson's Round Hill Estate which was first a sugar plantation and later changed over to coconuts and pimento (all spice) which are still produced today.
Twenty nine acres were subdivided and prominent American and European socialties were invited to build "cottages" and invest in the hotel. Shareholders have included Noel Coward, Adele Astaire, Bill Paley, Lord and Lady Ednam, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Hammerstein, Clive Brook, Jack and Natasha Wilson, the Marchioness of Dufferin and Ava, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Tiarks and Viscount and Viscountess Rothermere
Unique Quality: Guests may choose from Pineapple House Hotel with 36 superior and deluxe rooms overlooking the Caribbean Sea and Round Hill's seaside fresh water pool, or one of the 27 private villas dotted over the hillside, most with private pool.

Without question, you must stay at Round Hill,Montego Bay. They serve high tea at 4 p.m. the water is gin clear and you can see tropical fish scurrying around you. The rooms in the guest house offer panaramic views of paradise. I swear it is a part of Eden

Staying at Round Hill later this year. Do we take the meal plan or not? Cost is about $180 per day for 2 people (MAP).

Hi there. I stayed at Round Hill a few years ago (2000) and had a wonderful time. I'm guessing that you haven't been there before. I stayed in one of the Pineapple House rooms - it was nice and big, quiet and had an amazing view of the sea. I went there on my own and found the guests as well as the staff extremely friendly and polite. I only spent the first evening on my own at dinner and from then on was always invited to join other, larger parties. It's more like a private club that your normal hotel. Everybody says 'good morning' to each other and it just has such a wonderful feel about the place. The Manager came over and formally introduced himself to me and kissed my hand. There is a cocktail party once a week at one of the villas and it's a wonderful excuse to get dressed up and mingle with the other guests. They also have dinner on the beach one evening a week (at least they did when I was there).
There isn't a huge amount to do there but if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing time, then it will be heaven.
If you get a chance, try to visit the bird sanctuary - it's amazing. A tiny little place, up in the hills. You sit on the terrace and the birds come down and eat the seed out of your hands and the hummingbirds sit on your finger while drinking sugar water out of a bottle that you are holding. The hotel will arrange a car to take you there.
Sorry to babble on but as you can see, I really enjoyed my stay. Now what was the question? Oh yes, US%180 per couple per day doesn't sound too bad. I only went bed and breakfast and had to sign for all of the meals. It can add up quite quickly. If you are on a budget, I think maybe taking the all-inclusive option is good idea. They do have a complimentary afternoon tea everyday in the piano bar so in theory you could miss lunch to save a bit of money if you want to pay for things as you go along.
I'm very jealous that you are going there.......have a wonderful time x
