Geez I forget the name of them.....but there is a lovely spot where you can climb the waterfalls! A must do! Dancing in the moonlight! Party on the Cat! The people in Jamacia make sure you have a good time. If you don't dive...snorkling is a must!
Packing for a beach vacation
by Dabs
Bring a waterproof beach bag if you are going out on the water, things get wet when you are on a boat If you are planning on visiting any of the falls or wading out into the water (lots of sea urchins-ouch!), a pair of aqua shoes is a good investment. I saw lots of people wearing their tennis shoes which I assume would stay wet for the rest of the trip.
If you are staying at an all inclusive, you should pack at least a nice pair of pants (men) and a skirt/sundress (women) if you plan on going to the reservation only restaurants.
A hat is also a good idea, the part on my head always burns and then peels
Sunglasses, bathing suit, sandals, tshirt Sunscreen!!!! The sun is very intense in Jamaica. Aloe is a good thing to have if you get burned.
Unless you are in a high end resort, don't assume they will have all the necessary toiletries. Our all inclusive only had bath gel and shampoo, no lotion or bar soap or conditioner. Underwater camera-I missed out on manatee shots because I forgot to buy one, they don't have them out in the country. A disposable camera is also not a bad idea if you are planning on being out on the water in case it gets wet Snorkel gear, most resorts will have it but it's nice to use your own mask and snorkel I do a lot of reading on beach vacations, all the magazines I've not had the time to read or maybe that 700 page book that I've been meaning to tackle
If you are at an AI, bring along a water bottle or mug otherwise you'll be drinking out of tiny plastic cups or buying a mug at the resort.
Extra plastic bags come in handy for carrying home wet bathing suits
The Craft Market......Ironshore
by Raslady
This craft market is situated right opposite the Holiday Inn on the coast road to Falmouth, about a 10 minute drive from MoBay.
The photo. shows only about one third of the street and it will probably take you around two hours to have a quick browse in all the shops!
It's worth a drive if you have nothing else to do. The prices may be a little more than in town, but you may find a few things you haven't seen on the Hip Strip, and don't forget to haggle.
Jamaican Bobsled Team
by RudoElCojonudo
Incredible, isn't it? A caribean country with an olimpic bobsled team!! It only could happen in Jamaica!!
If you want to know more about the Jamaican Bobsled Team you can go to their pub in Gloucester Avenue, in Mo'Bay, where you can drink, eat and of course buy official staff from the olimpic team.
There is an real bobsled there, so you can also take some pictures.
Downtown Montego Bay
by Dabs
We thought it a bit odd that we had been to Montego Bay four times and we had never actually seen any of the city but Sunset Beach is so far outside the center that it's not walkable and we really didn't have a reason to go there. But we decided to go on one of the shopping excursions so we could see a bit of the city and had our driver drop us there while everyone else was spending their money at the duty free stores.
The downtown area is bustling with people shopping and going about their business, even in the noon day heat. There are some interesting buildings as you walk along the main street (St. James I think), you can stop by Juici Patty or Stanley's for a patty, take a peek at one of the grocery stores or the outdoor fruit sellers. A lot more interesting than seeing yet another shop packed with tourist trinkets, that's for sure!
