Garden Park: Garden Park Little Bay Jamaica

I find it sad when a little unspoilt corner of Jamaica is being heavily promoted on Virtual Tourist purely through greed and exploitation.

Many of us dislike the way that Negril has morphed into one big Coney Island resort of all inclusiveas and hustlers who hassle the tourist,

So it's a joy to discover a little piece of paradise that remains uncantaminated by the sprawling corporate all inclusive which atracts the obese tourists who trawl the beach looking for gigolos. Gross!.

So when I find that a particular guest house - Purple Rain is being heaving promoted on Virtual Tourist, My Space, and Trip Advisor by a woman who goes by the alias of 'Xamayka' it turns my stomach.

Why, because such heavy PR/Promotion is done throu sheer commercial greed, promoting her own property/ business in a poor country where locals need money.

On all the websites 'Xamayka' extolls the virtue of 'Purple Rain' but cleverly refuses to mention the price. Clever. 'Less than Average' she claims.

However we had the shock of out life when we arrived at Purple Rain to be told the weekly rate was $600! and the other house was even more expensive.,

Hey, I can get a flight from Toronto to MoBay and a week at a hotel for less than that.

So I felt sad, sick that corporate greed has crept into the last bastion of the real Jamaica - Little Bay.

Shame on you 'Xamayka' or Donna as your real name is. $600 for a week in a simple guest house is way too much.

Guys there are far better options in Little Bay. We found a charming rustic cabin for $25 per night and even better our $25 went to a Jamaican family, not some overfed overpaid American.

Shame on you Donna for spamming the net promoting your very expensive property!. Let's give Jamaicans a chance.
