Ocean View Villas: Studio Apartment with Many Amenities

Run by 2 expatriates who live on site, there are 3 apartments in a walled compound with a lush communal garden. The walls prevent you from having an ocean view and it is not on the beach so the name is misleading. The plus side is the studio apartment was huge with cathedral ceilings, full kitchen, living area with SAT TV, queen sized bed with an American pillow top mattress, private patio, and even a private outdoor shower off of the bathroom. It is perfect place for someone who likes the comforts of an American home. Tim, one of the owners, was very helpful and made sure we were taken care of. Bachelor Beach is 2 doors down and has good snorkeling. But if you're looking for a quiet stay on the beach this wouldn't be the place as you can hear cars pass by and the planes take off at the airport. But you can't beat the quality, service and price.

Unique Quality: The attention to detail is key. There is a basket with snacks on the counter, large plush towels in the bath, Mahogany plantation shutters, two large cushioned wicker chairs in front of the room in the courtyard, two lounges on the private patio...The list is long. For $80 a night it is a great deal.

Carib Inn: Carib Inn

The Carib Inn is an extremely small hotel, only featuring nine rooms arranged around a small swimming pool. So, there are absolutely no crowds or screaming kids running around, a bonus in my opinion.

Check out their website for last minute openings and special deals....

Unique Quality: You will also find an excellent dive shop and charter service operating from the premises, which is why people choose to stay at the Carib Inn. It takes about 20 seconds to walk from your hotel room to the dive boat....sweet!!!

The Inn does not have a bar or restaurant, but never fear, Kralendijk is a mere ten minute walk from the Carib.
