    The Van der Valk Hotel. Van der Valk is a Dutch family that has hotels allover the Netherlands. So they also have a big hotel at the Netherlands Antilles. It is situated near the governmental building as you can see on the picture.

    The Van der Valk Hotel has a private beach and a fair restaurant.

    Alablanca apartments provides apartments for two, three or four people (and yes ofcourse as one person you can stay at a two persons appartment).

    Every apartment/cabinhouse has it's own terrace at the back. It's nice sitting here. You can see it on the picture.

    Exelent apartments with kitchen, cooking 'gear', shower, toilet and...a swimmingpool!

    You have your own little minigarden with chairs. You can often feed small lizards here -they live in the wild and hide in the shadow-. They come immediately towards you when you feed them...tomatoes!

    We have stayed at both the Sand Dollar and Buddy Dive Resort and both are satisfactory and offer good value. It appears the Sand Dollar will be ready for full operation in about another year.
    3 bedroom apt. $220US

    Both resorts have a full complement of pool, restaurant, bar, lovely sunsets, dive shops, dedicated boats for diving. Prices very competitive.

    • Sonesta Hotel has it all when you want a quite time during your stay... quick and direct access to beach... and it's only 7 minutes from downtown whenever you want some noisy time!

    the beach is quite good, anyway the tide is too strong to be sure to not go alone... maybe no one will notice if you disappear... The pool is great an it has a caribbean design full of 'palmeras' around it, that gives it a little shade for those avoiding the premature melting...

    • Since we had a problem with the plane (an airport employee had an accident with the truck that gets our suitcase in the plane and broke the plane) they paid us a night at Maho Beach Hotel and Casino (along with a reimbursement and ticket for a nice dinner at
    the restaurant).

    Since it was time sharing vacation, we stayed at the Towers at Mullet Bay. These condos are very beautiful and completely furnished. First they made a mistake. They promised a 2 rooms condo, but we ended up with a studio. Since we were 4 and didn't really want to sleep with my in laws, we called the company. They arranged us to have a studio on our own, but with the bad view (because of Lewis tornado). Since we didn't really care about the view from the room, we were in heaven!

    Marble everywhere... very chic!

    This is the Van der Valk Hotel seen from the St Anna Bay, Otrabanda, Willemstad.
    I think it's a bit expensive like at hotels such as the Princess Hotel, the Seaquarium Beach hotel etcetera.

    Alablanca apartments also have a swimmingpool! It's nice cooling off here after a day of visiting beaches, the city of Willem Stad or some parks :)
