We have stayed at both the Sand Dollar and Buddy Dive Resort and both are satisfactory and offer good value. It appears the Sand Dollar will be ready for full operation in about another year.

For night life, there appeared to be a resort party with free rum punch at each resort on alternate days of the week. Friday: Buddy's Dive Resort, and Monday night: Capt. Don's Habitat. Other resorts were nearly closed due to damage from hurricane in November. We visited the ones at Capt. Don's Habitat and to Buddy's
A musician named Mookie played at both, both were followed by beach bar b q's. Beach casual. Shorts, tee shirts

We visit Bonaire regularly, in the latter part of September with the KSC Barracuda Dive Club from Brevard county Florida. This the third annual trip. The first trip was with 24 divers, the second 30, and this year there were 32. We stayed at the Buddy Dive Resort. The first year we stayed at the Sand Dollar. The Sand Dollar's dive shop, restaurant, and boat dock was wiped out in 1999 November's hurricane waves. They have rebuilt the restaurant, but not on the water and it lacks the ambience of the old one. There have been several closures of resorts on the island, the ones remaining are all in a row. They are Sand Dollar, Buddy's, Lion's and Don's Habitat. None were doing a rushing business. Our 32 people was the majority of the guests at Buddy's and the others seemed near deserted.
