Hotel Alma: The only place in town
Since Boaco is not on the travelling circuit at all, it is surpising that a hotel of this size actually exists. The upper back part is simply part of the owner's home while the side facing the town below feels more like a motel. They are mostly single rooms with tv, fan and a private bathroom. If there is water (it is shut off frequently) it will be cold; if there isn't water, you can hope that there is sufficient water in the adjacent basin in the shower (called a 'pila') for you to bathe yourself with a small bowl (and flush the toilet etc.). Sometimes electricity is not available. Try to stay in the rooms overlooking the town on the second floor, much nicer.
A single should not be more than $12 a night which is pricey for no running water but really the best option in town.
