Hello there, look in La Prensa de Nicaragua, clasified article and try to locate car rental, also some rental car company offers minivans and minibuses, but no drivers, but you can always ask at the counter of the rental car company or just ask a taxi driver if they want to drive for you, you'll be surprise how easy it is.

Travel Tips for Managua

Plaza de la Fe.

by euzkadi

A huge circular explanade constructed for the visit of the Pope Juan Pablo II, located in front of the Concha Acustica, the place was deserted during my visit, just the Sandinista´s Propaganda surrounding the place. Specially in this part of the city i felt the sense of emptiness that is common to the city.

A lot better than 10 years ago !!!!!

Managua is a capital city with no real tourist attractions. All places of interest are out of the city ......Canadians, and various European nationalities come to Nicaragua and head straight to the beach resorts an hour and half away. In the last 5 years major improvement have happened in the beach resorts.....but the city is slowly coming to life. Use lots of common sense traveling in Managua...leave all jewlery home, drive with the windows up and avoid badly lit streets at night !!!!! Cheap and decent food is very common, the US dollar goes a long way here. The nightlife is improving dramatically....with the right people you will find Managua unique !!!!
