View from atop the hotel by Primate My friend and I stayed at the Hotel Covadonga in Panama City. It was cheap by North American standards but is mid-range for Central America. The cheaper the hotel, the less amenities like.....doors that lock for example.
The hotel has a rooftop pool which was great for getting out of the heat. The views from the top are impressive as well. Theme: HotelComparison: about average

Even had some furry visitors by FireMike Had a nice little cabana for $5 a night with private bathroom and mosquito nets.
Place had a kitchen, was attached to the most popular bar on the island and the bar was right on the water. The most unique thing was that there was a sunken ship (hence the name) right beside the dock which was covered with fish. You could watch the fish right from the dock, but snorkelling gear was available too. casa grande at march 2006 by quime Only for backpackers budget!!! Historic private house offering clean and secure accomodation but i have my doubts.... in the heart of Panama City`s historic Old Quarter. Most rooms have private balconies overlooking quaint colonial streets. Private Rooms with shared facilities, Meeting Space, luggage storage and laundry service available. Tourist attractions, Internet, restaurants, cafes and bars all within walking distance.
a place for backpackers... 7USD ADVICE: I have read some bad reviews of that hostel...and certanly it is not a safe place at night. Theme: HostelPrice: less than US$20 » Currency ConverterComparison: least expensiveAddress: Central Ave. & 8th street-Old Quarter.Directions: Go to Casco Viejo, one block behind the Central Plaza and Cathedral. Hostel is located on a half block on the corner of 8th street and Central Avenue (YELLOW HOUSE). Entrance by the blue sing reading HOSPEDAJE CASA GRANDE - LODGING.

by gabbs A quiet, private, family-run country estate inn on 2˝ hectares at an altitude of 1,600 meters above sea level. It is conveniently located between the towns of Cerro Punta and Volcan, offering easy access to both the Volcan Baru National Park and the International Friendship Park.
A tranquil setting lush with tropical fruit and coffee trees interlaced with the exotic flowers of bird of paradise, lilies, anthuriums, alstroemerias, and impatiens. The estate is a natural bird sanctuary nestled in the rustic landscape of the Chiriqui highlands. coffee roaster by Suzie3 What a sweet place. The owners Barry and Jane went way out of their way to make our stay very special. There are three little cottages. The one we had had a living room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and porch with a view. Decorated cottage style complete with braided rugs. We really enjoyed watching the birds at the feeders. I highly recommend a stay here.
Baskets of fresh oranges for the taking. The kitchens all have juicers to make fresh OJ in the morning. French coffee pot, microwave, and stove make this a real home away from home. If you prefer, they will cook dinner for you. Something to be done at least once. They came over and put linens , candles, and fresh flowers on the table. The food was wonderful. What a special and romantic dinner overlooking their beautiful grounds and the little town of Boquete. The grounds are very beautiful and there are coffee plants, flowers, and orange trees everywhere. The coffee you drink in fresh roasted right in their kitchen.
