El Manantial: El Manantial
This Inn is actually in Bambito, a little ways down the road from Cerro Punta. It is however a good place to stay when in the Cerro Punta / Volcan area. We did not find any of the Volcan accommodations we looked at very desirable and so headed up the road to Cerro Punta and discovered this place. We stayed at this inn in May of 2006 for two nights. We paid about $45USD/night including taxes and breakfast. Room was very large with TV w/cable. fan, no A/C (probably not needed at his altitude). The breakfast was good and service was excellent. Resort has a nice outdoor pool, jacuzzi, spa facilities, restaurant/bar/lounge on large wooded grounds in a truly idyllic setting along side of the Chiriqui river, just a few clicks up the canyon. Cero Punta is about a 20-30 minute drive further up the road and is something to behold. The difference between Volcan and the Bambito - Cerro Punta area is like night and day.It is a fantastic experience. The town of Volcan itself is not very attractive.
