I haven't stayed here yet, but from the photos of the place I've seen, it seems very nice. It is not posh or fancy but seems very comfortable. It is nearly brand new, it was opened just over a year ago. The prices currently are: $55 Single $60 Double $65 Triple It is on the high end for this area, but cheaper than most places down the road in Pedasi, about a half hour away. They say it is about 8 minutes from Las Tablas to the hotel, but it is more like 15. The road to the hotel is mostly dirt and is bumpy. If you want to stay at a place near the beach (they are not on the beach, but the upper-floor rooms have a beach view.) and not pay exorbitant prices, this is the place to stay. Plus it is close to Rincon del Faro restaurant, which is one of the best I've been to in Panama. (See my tip on that!)
Hotel La Luna is a small hotel near Playa Uverita just east of Las Tablas. It has eight rooms, all with a full and a twin bed. They have a nice, albeit small, pool; and plenty of room to lounge. They are near Rincon del Faro restaurant which is one of the best I've been to in Panama, they have excellent seafood dishes. It is not crowded here, even on weekends, it is secluded but not diffucult to get to or far from the highway. Good spot to getaway to. Manolo Hotel by bilgeez I haven't stayed here, it is in the Moon Guidebook. It appears to be as described in that. It is clean and seems well maintained. I do not recommend the restaurant, see my seperate tip for that. If you stay during Carneval, if you can get a room, expect to pay many times the usual price, especially if you are a gringo.
It is in the main business district in town. It is close to everything. There are a bar and restaurant on the property, and an internet access desk in the restaurant and a hook-up for a laptop. They charge $1 an hour for internet use, but there are several places within a few minutes walk that charge .75 an hour and have better services. See my tips on them. It may not seem like much, but there is a difference you will notice and the lower price is worth the few minutes walk. The main highway comes directly into downtown Las Tablas and you must turn left there, continue two blocks east to the Hotel.
