Rio Sereno Border Crossing Panama/Costa Rica
by karenkdixon
This is very doable, contrary to myths and tales of hardship. No lines, No fuss, no big trucks.
From David, travel to Volcan or Cerro Punto. Spend the night and get an early morning start.
About an hour in a 20 passenger van type bus. Great music, much fun, easy ride through beautiful countryside. Ride up front if possible. Many curves in the road. The bus lets you off a 5 minute walk from the border crossing.
A bus will pick you up from the border and right into the nearest small town in Costa Rica where you transfer to San Vito and bigger and badder bus terminals.

Niko's Cafe
by jlg90
Niko's Cafe is a 24 hour service place, food isn't excellent... It is just cheap!!! Food taste better when you are heading off a discoteque going to your hotel and feeling hungry...
Still I insist, only cheap, certainly not great!!!!!
Upscale Italian
by bilgeez about Rino Ristorante
Rino Ristorante is an up-scale part of the Tamburelli chain. The menu is similar to the pizzaria Tamburelli, but they have a more sophisticated setting, no pizza, and a more eclectic menu. And yes, it is more expensive than the neighborhood Tamburellis, but not outrageous. It is near the Bank district, and several hotels, so many foreign business people go there. Like the other Tamburelli´s, this location serves clams with garlic sauce. They also have many pasta and seafood dishes. They have full bar service and valet parking.
If you like to play bridge, the ex-pats club meets there every Tuesday at 6 or so to play a few rubbers, they will let you play, you don´t need to join the club, but to join you just need to give your name and a phone number or e-mail address. That is quick, simple and free!
Teatro National - National Theater
by elsadran
The building is almost 100 years old and it is a gem of the old city. The interior is even more interesting with great acoustics, and magnificent frescoes of the best local artist. The Italian architect Genaro Ruggieri was assigned to design the theater and the palace of the Government next to it. It was inaugurated in 1908 and cost about 600,000$. It can seat more than 800 people. Especially beautiful is the ceiling with exquisite murals by Roberto Lewis. It features the symbolic figures of the Republic, Apollo and other classical ones and is dedicated to the Birth of the Republic..
