Above Average Reasonable Price Hotel

I stayed in this pleasant but unremarkable hotel briefly twice during the spring of 2009. The hotel is in a good neighborhood, quiet, very clean., and well furnished. There were nightstands on both sides of the bed. Yet, oddly, there were no lamps, making it necessary to leave the overhead light on and shining in your eyes to read--this is especially annoying if you want to read yourself to sleep. The television had English CNN and a good many English comedies and dramas with Spanish subtitles. There is a small restaurant in the building, which provided good food in not unpleasant surroundings for modest prices. The English competence at the reception desk was uneven, rangng from none to fluent. Everyone was, however, pleasant and accomodating and willing to cope with my almost nonexistent Spanish. There is a 25% discount for paying in cash rather than credit card. The lobby is small but had free Internet service--something I always appreciate, since I don't fancy schlepping a laptop around the world.
