4 stars and smelly rooms
When we were looking on lastminute.com for a hotel in Panama we were intrigued by the low prices (60 USD for a superior room) of this 4 stars hotel, ad booked it right away. The location seemed good and their website showed pictures of nice rooms. it also has a lovely little pool on the 7th floor.
Unique Quality: We found the hotel very run down... the first room we were shown smelled of mould and it was very little... we politely pointed out that we had chosen a Superior room and they told us that they had given us a suite. Now, I may not have often been in a suite (maybe once or twiceo ny) but I do know what it looks like. We asked to be given a superior room and after a lot of insistence gave us another room, larger, no strange smells but still a bit run down. Most plugs were broken with wires hanging out. We have stayed in 1 stars hotel of much better quality. My advice. keep away from the Roma Plaza

Great, inexpensive hotel.
I really enjoyed this place. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.
It is safe. The room was clean and had ice cold air conditioning.
There is a nice rooftop swimming pool.
The restaurant was just average, but the hotel was going through a remodel when I was there, so it could be better now.
There is a pharmacy across the street.
I will always stay at The Roma Plaza when I visit Panama.
Unique Quality: Rooftop swimming pool, with great views of the city.
