Small hotel
Stayed at this hotel for a few days before taking off for Costa Rica and ecotour. The hotel is in a fairly quiet part of the city, not far from lots of restaurants. the lobby area is small but clean. There is always someone there who can speak English. Our room on the second floor was supposed to be a "suite" but it was really a bedroom with a table and chairs. There was a small refrigerator, microwave and a two-burner stove, but no cooking utensils. Lighting was dim and the room had a musty smell to it. (Lobby, however, smelled fine.) There is internet access in the room, but we had to run a wire across the floor from the bar to the table, and another wire in another direction to get power.
There are other hotels nearby that probably are a little cleaner and brighter. The nice thing about the location is that there are many restaurants within an easy walk. And I found a beauty salon next door where I got a manicure for $4 from an English-speaking person.
