Good Panama City hotel

I stayed in PC in early March 2009 at the Marbella Hotel. It's in the El Cangrejo neighborhood, near restaurants, casinos, shops, grocery store, right of Via Veneto and very near Via Espana. Only $55 a night. You can get a small refrigerator in the room for another $5 a night. People at the front desk are very helpful if you need to know taxi fares or directions. Also, there are 2 computers with Internet access in a room off the lobby. The charge $1 a half-hour paid at the front desk. The El Cangrejo area is where many tourists stay. You can easily get a taxi anywhere and it's very safe to walk around even at night.

Reasonable Hotel in El Cangrejo

Marbella is a small, quality hotel near Bancaria and the night life and "large" hotels off Via Espana. It isn't fancy but it is well-kept and inviting. And it is much less expensive than the larger hotels nearby. Just a block away and $100 a night cheaper.
Currently the room rates are $50 for a queen for one person $55 for a double for two. A queen for two is $60. The rates include breakfast. The restaurant is open 7-11 everyday.
They also have rooms with a double and a twin for $75 for three.

Unique Quality: Nothing fancy, they have covered parking, 24 hr security, decent restaurant and it is close to the bancaria section, casinos and other night life.
If you need or want to be in mid-town Panama City, this is a good, lower-priced alternative to the large hotels like El Panama and Continental.

Hey there,
Just got back from Panama and had a great time. When I was in Panama-city a new hostel just opened: La City Hostel. Very nice, clean, great vibe, free internet and it had swimmingpool on the roof. I forgot to say it is cheap and it's located in Marbella, Panama-city. Ryan is the owner, his e-mail is ryan@miradoradventures.com
We had a beautiful time in Puerto Lindo, close to Portobello, on the Caribean Coast. It's a four hour drive by bus and we we stayed in the Bambu Guesthouse in the Portobello National Park, with a view on the sea. Big, luxurious rooms with a hot shower. The Dutch owners can arrange everything, from a trip to San Blas, to nice snorkling trips to bounty-islands, canopy, horseriding...true paradise: www.panamagousthouse.com
Enjoy your stay!!!
