 | Riande Granada Hotel And Casino: Great location

My husband and I stayed at the Granada the first two nights of our stay in Panama City. The rooms are small but clean, the decoration is outdated. The air conditioning worked great, they only had one iron apparently that we had to borrow from the housekeeping department everytime we wanted to use it. The food is okay, the sancocho was GREAT, the montecristo sandwich too. The breakfast included with the room is a typical panamanian breakfast and was average. The hotel pool is nice and clean, the staff was nice too. Overall it was just okay.
The location of the hotel is excellent. It is walking distance from Via Argentina, Via España and Via Veneto. All three of these are major streets with restaurants, shops and all kinds of services for great price. This is where local panamanians go so the prices are set accordingly. Via España is one of the main arteries of the city so allows access to all kinds of shopping: clothing, electronics, home goods .etc... I would only recommend to walk around during the day. At night is not too bad just keep your eyes peel for any suspicious actitivity going on. The neighborhood across the street from the hotel is a very nice established local neighborhood with pretty homes, old and new and lots of trees...
