  • We stayed at a guest house where we were allowed to use the kitchen to cook.. This was fun and good for our budget.

We stayed in the Condado beach...
  • Tip Rating:
  • We stayed in the Condado beach area, where many tourists stay. For grocery shopping, we went to 'Pueblos', a big supermarket nearby. You can take busses from the main street to old San Juan and to the big shopping mall ‘Plaza Las Americas’.

We stayed at the Hyatt Dorado...
  • Tip Rating:
  • We stayed at the Hyatt Dorado Beach Resort and because it was the low-season (September) we had a room with an ocean view. That view was just the best you'll get anywhere, I guess... There are several golf courses at both Hyatt resorts in Dorado and the trolley service will bring you to the clubhouses. The River Pool at the Hyatt Regency Cerromar is simply amazing, although I suspect it to be overcrowded during the busy season.

Only negative side to the Resort is the transportation to and from the airport. It is done by a separate operator and that means that it is expensive. $20 per person, and if only two persons want to go at a certain time, you pay $20 extra. For that sum you could rent a car as well...
Check your travel agency. European travel agencies tend to have lower fares during the 'Hurricane season'. Not much chance of actually being hit by a hurricane though, so go ahead.

It's luxurious, the bed is huge, rooms are spacious, it's quiet, beautiful beach, marvellous river-swimming pool at the nearby Hyatt Cerromar (free).

Villa Fulladoza and Anchors Inn: We stayed in 2 accommodations,...
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • We stayed in 2 accommodations, one in Fajardo
(Anchors Inn) and the other one in Culebra
    (Villa Fulladoza)
We paid about $60 for a night in a 2 persons studio.
We had a kitchen with all in it.

Villa Fulladoza was a great place to stay, clean, bright colors, at the water and the manager speaks English to our relieve.

  • Tip Rating:
  • My friends and I stayd at a resort in Isla Verde. I heard it's safer there since there were only 4 girls, safety was a top concern for us.

Since it's a resort it has everything. A great pool, outdoor jacuzzi and a direct access to the beach. The hotel guys bring you a beach chair and set it up for you. The sand was great and the water was just the right temperature. My girlfriends and I would wake up early and have the whole pool to oursevels for awhile.
We booked a double room but since we were 4, two of us had to sneak in. But we saved $$$ by splitting the bill 4 ways.

That's the view from our balcony. It was so worth paying the extra for the fabulous view. Life is short so splurge once awhile.

    Ritz-Carlton Hotel.
  • Tip Rating:
  • Newly constructed in 1997, and immediately ranked by Travel Leisure Magazine as the best hotel in the entire Caribbean, this posh, palatial property is truly the essence of elegance. Do you like marble? Lots of it? This is your hotel.
