Home away from home.... :)

I came to San Juan with two other friends. We didn't have reservation. We booked it as it was cheapest option to stay in Condado area. Guest house is actually right on the beach. Although it has direct access to beach from terrace we were advised to use public access which is just round the corner (it was due to safety reasons). Aleli is small building surrounded by bigger ones. Taxi from LMM (or SJU) airport cost $15. During whole our stay we changed 2 rooms. The first one (Room No 5) had no ocean view but was bigger. Room No 7 has some view of the ocean but is much smaller (perfect for couple). I know that room No 8 has Ocean view and is big one too. Only the day before departure I found out that reception has hairdryers to lend if you need one. This perfect place... After a week of stay we felt like at home. We knew all people who worked in Aleli and they knew us too. However, if you consider coming for St Valentines day then book room well in advance. We made mistake and so we had to move from hotel for two nights (but we came back because we loved this place)

Unique Quality: Firstly all people who work there are ready to help you. Whether you need to go shopping to Plaza Las Americas or simply need advice how to get to specific place. We miss them a lot after we came back home. Moreover guests has opportunity to cook themselves and you can save a lot. All kitchen equipment can be used. There is salt, local coffee, some tea, sugar for free. Some days you can even get fresh fruits from garden. If you are lazy to cook Wendy's is just in front. Hotel is in very good place that you can easily walk in a daytime to Old San Juan (takes about 40min). However it is not recommended to try it in the nighttime. Rooms are cleaned everyday. Free wireless can be used (although not in all rooms it works properly but best connection is in lobby anyway).

Cheapest hotel we found..

It was the cheapest place we found at the time... it is in a good location, right on the beach and not far from some of the night spots!

Near it is a gay hotel i believe called the Antarctic or something on those lines. For any gay men out there this looks like a good hotel. There is a bar there too which is a lot of fun...they have the best apple martini's I have ever tried!!!
