Bravo Beach Hotel: Oceanfront Hip Hotel

We did a bit of "hotel shopping" and the BBH was located right on the beach outside of Isabelle Segunda. It was done in a hip white motif - white buildings, white decor, oversized white pillows in the dining room at the grand table. Sort of a "rock the casbah meets the tropics" feeling to it. We didn't stay here but had a delicious Sunday brunch here, with lobster frittata and mimosas and also had my "half birthday" dinner here one night, with numerous tasting plates.
It was a fun experience!!

Unique Quality: Beautiful oceanfront location
Pool
Delicious food in hip dining areas
Excellent wine selection
Convenient parking
Sleek, modern design
Quite area of the island
Close to Isabelle Segunda main town

"Casa de Gallo Loco" (nickname): Charming Private House on Vieques

The house we stayed in was spacious, very reasonable and included a Jeep Cherokee in the price of the rental, which was a nice bonus to not need to rent a car. There were 4 of us and the set up of 3 master suites worked perfectly - everyone was able to have their own space and then share the common living areas and sun decks. Comes complete with roosters, chickens and the occasional wild horse wandering in to the yard.

Unique Quality: This house had 3 separate suites - bedrooms with their own bathroom - which provides everyone with privacy. The kitchen, living room and dining room, and sundecks provide everyone with common areas to share.

Acacia Apartments in Esperanza: Big apartment, great view!

We stayed at the penthouse of the Acacia Apartments in Esperanza. The Acacia is about a 5-10 minute walk from "La Tienda Verde," which is where you'll inevitably end up for groceries and alcohol during your stay in Esperanza. (There is a larger supermarket in Isabel Segunda).
Anyhow, we were on the top floor (third) and had a private deck. We would take the stairs to the roof and enjoyed a spectacular view there also. The apartment was really spacious.. one large bedroom, a large bathroom, and a large kitchen. It worked out really well for us since we could entertain our friends there.
The one drawback to this place was the noise. There are neighborhood dogs and roosters making noise at all hours. Also, this may already be a regular part of your life depending on where in the world you currently live, you have to take your garbage out every night, and rinse all empty bottles and cans. We sometimes had tiny ants around the garbage in the kitchen if we didn't take the garbage out at night.
There's also a great breeze in the apartment. You don't need A/C at all!
The owners were awesome too. We got some travel tips on checkin, and the next day they stopped by to see if we were doing okay. After that, we were on our own!

Unique Quality: Great view! Ask a few friends over and have a party. Great price too. For both of us, it only cost $89/night (before the 14% tax).
