It is also very close to many resturants and other activities, many or all can be reached by walking..
The hotel offers many water sports and land activities. Now there are two pools , and the hotel has a All-inclusive section....
We found that eating breakfast only was the bst deal.. There are so many resturants close by, some with local food , that it was better to eat out and less expensive....
There are mant different types of resturants right across street, all within walking distance..
If she is still there, we found that just outside the hotel entrance to the right by a gift shop, a local aldy would have meals every night,consisting of chicken,rice,vegatables,and dinks all for $5...
It was very good...
There also is a pub resturant down the road which was part of rodney bay, the food was great and the price was very good...
The view is spectacular, you can see pigeon point and many ships out in the bay...
It has many outstanding qualities...

The Royal St Lucian is the best of all three, rated as about 4.5 star property depending on which brochure you look in.
The entrance is open air, large, marble everywhere with a central water feature.
Our room was a beachfront suite. There are only 8 of these rooms, which have a seperate lounge and bedroom, very big with high ceilings, bathroom, with shower with side jets.
The terrace is outstanding, about 20' x 13' I'd say, plenty of room to eat, drink, sunbathe, and a view to die for - over Reduit beach, but private enought that no-one on the beach can see you.
The pool is great. A figure of eight. In one end is a mini waterfall, and greenery, in the other end is a swim up bar and pool cafe.
Vanessa and Dave manned the pool during our stay, and they were both great. So friendly, chatty, and great at making lethal cocktails!
There would also be a pool drinks service which was good.

To say that we were not disappointed would be an understatement. All our stays (December 2003 and 2004, July 2006) were outstanding, couldn't be better. We've chosen East Winds Inn for its unique combination of small scale and quality. Service is immaculate. Staff is very friendly. Guests are almost exclusively Europeans, of which about 80% British.
East Winds Inn is the ideal resort if you are into small scale luxury accomodations. This all inclusive resort has it all (except crowds). Just 26 little residences laid out in a spacious and private way in a beautiful well kept lush garden. The resort is right at a quiet well equipped romantic beach. Within reach are a tiny but gorgeous snorkel reef, swimming pool, several bars, leisure facilities. The restaurant is simply superb. The French chef combines his native haute cuisine with the traditional Creole kitchen. Not to mention the wines, daily champagne, BBQ's, the sound of the birds at sunrise, ..... Expensive, but worth every penny.

Malabar beach is wonderful, the poolbar is fantastic, the swings are ideal places for watching the perfect sunsets and the food at every meal (and tea) was really delicious. About 80% of the clientelle are from the U.K. Oh, and there are a lot of guests that smoke cigarettes. Ick -- but just get used to it. The staff NEVER smoke. We stayed at the Club St. Lucia and it was moderate. We were lucky to get a villa close to all amenities or else you could be walking quite a distance for meals. To beach bar and pools were very nice but I would be afraid that when the resort is full, they might be a little crowded. I would recommend a resort in Rodney Bay, instead, as we were about a 45 minuted walk from any action. Theme: Hotel

I was welcomed by the couple who own the guesthouse with a talk about the area, maps and advice on local activities, shops etc. Prior to this they had given me detailed directions on how to reach the guesthouse via email.
The guesthouse is right on the bay with views of Rodney Marina, some nearby hills and Pigeon island (as well as the caribbean sea!) which cannot be substituted for anything.. especially during sunset!
4 rooms guesthouse. 2 rooms are 'studios' with kitchenettes, the others are ensuite with fridge and cutlery but no cooking facilities. Rooms were furnished with all necessities including a mosquito net, cutlery, refridgerator and an ensuite bathroom with a shower.
Great value for money and simply a wonderful accomodation to be staying in as it is situated in Gros Islet 30 secs away from a beach and with access to the jump up party of Gros Islet on Fridays.
The owners are french and english and own a dog and 2 cats.
