More about Village Inn & Spa at Rodney Bay

We stayed at the Club St....

by 2002

We stayed at the Club St. Lucia and it was moderate. We were lucky to get a villa close to all amenities or else you could be walking quite a distance for meals. To beach bar and pools were very nice but I would be afraid that when the resort is full, they might be a little crowded. I would recommend a resort in Rodney Bay, instead, as we were about a 45 minuted walk from any action.

Island's Best Beach

by gcmm about The Rex Saint Lucian Hotel

The stay at the Rex was fantastic. It without question has the best beach on the island.
It is also very close to many resturants and other activities, many or all can be reached by walking..
The hotel offers many water sports and land activities. Now there are two pools , and the hotel has a All-inclusive section....
We found that eating breakfast only was the bst deal.. There are so many resturants close by, some with local food , that it was better to eat out and less expensive....
There are mant different types of resturants right across street, all within walking distance..
If she is still there, we found that just outside the hotel entrance to the right by a gift shop, a local aldy would have meals every night, consisting of chicken, rice, vegatables, and dinks all for $5...
It was very good...
There also is a pub resturant down the road which was part of rodney bay, the food was great and the price was very good...
The view is spectacular, you can see pigeon point and many ships out in the bay... It has many outstanding qualities...
**Close to resturants
**Best beach
**Many fun activities
**golf close by
**shopping section
**night club/bar etc
**offers movies
**Two pools
And much more......

Rodney Bay

Rodney Bay, in the north by Gros Islet, is where you want to charter a boat, yacht, or whatever it is that tickles your fancy of sailing. It is a calm well protected bay, surrounded by dozens of mansions and green hills.

The Jump Up in Rodney Bay...

by Plookie

The Jump Up in Rodney Bay every friday from 11:00pm till sun up.
Club 'Indie' also in Rodney Bay. This club goes off, if you know what I mean.
The Jump up, is just one happening party. Meet and greet lot's of people from the island to the mainlander's.
'Indie' is just one of the island's best dance spot playing soca, reggae, r&b, hip hop, calypso, and latin. It's too damn hot there to be trying to impress folks with clothes. Just dress for hot weather, although they have their aircon on, you will eventully sweat you butt off.

Rodney Bay

Rodney Bay - This scenic bay is a 15-minute drive north of Castries. Set on a man-made lagoon, it has become a chic center for nightlife, hotels, and restaurants--in fact, it's the most active place on the island at night. Its marina is one of the top water-sports centers in the Caribbean, and a destination every December for the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers, when yachties cross the Atlantic to meet and compare stories.

How close is Rodney Bay to Anse Chastanet? How long of a drive is it? Is it reasonable to stay at Anse Chastanet and party in Rodney Bay?

RE: Rodney Bay

by easterntrekker

It's quite a drive between the two . The roads are very narrow and twisting. It would be over an hour...don't think it would be do able after partying...not on those roads .We rented a car a drove there but it was a day trip .

We stayed at Anse Chastanet Dec. 2005 and had a wonderful time. We did not go anywhere by car but instead took water taxis. They can arrange for you at the hotel, but we hooked up with "Dr.Feel Good" -- don't let the name scare you-- He said his real name was John, and he did a great job showing us around (and cheaper since the hotel did not take a surcharge)-- he even arranged a guide to hike us up the Grande Piton. Have fun!

It's quite a distance over pretty winding roads where there are no street lamps at night. For someone unfamiliar with the roads, I'd think at least an hour.

No, to your 2nd question. Depending on how long you're planning to stay, you might consider splitting the trip. Staying at the Royal Resort on Reduit Beach in Rodney Bay for a weekend and then moving on the Anse Chastenet for a quiet, more relaxed end to your holiday. Have a lovely time!
