Booked Jalousie partly because it had a squash court (we play racquetball). On arrival we found the court full of furniture and mattresses. Offered free spa treatments but we asked them to clear the court; took two days. Went again... air con was not working, door had no latch and there was a double powerpoint sticking out from the wall inside the court. Complained. Two days later air con fixed but not door. So for half our vacation we could not use a facility that was important to us.
Shuttle buses often reliable
Jalousie web site says 4 restauarants. Bayside open only Monday and Friday. The Pier closed one day and Cafe Bang not owned by Jalousie so is not included in AI/HB rates! You typically have a choice of only two restaurants on inclusive rates.
Booked an Ocean View room and given villa 205. To call this Ocean view is a joke. Asked three times to be moved. Only on the day that I knew the Virgin flight was coming in did we get villa 107 which was a truly wonderful ocean view villa.
However the patio tiles were cracked and missing at the edge by the pool, the pool surround had dropped 2 inches at the steps leaving a dangerous tripping edge and algae that had formed around the pool had not been cleaned but simply painted over!
At best Jalousie is 'shabby chic', at worst it is in a poor state of repair.
One day the chef decided to save money on breakfast and reduced the fresh fruit, juice and pastry selections. Porridge made with water, which my wife could have every other day (she is allergic to dairy products) was then unavailable. The waiting staff were in chaos. Thankfully it reverted the next day.
The snorkelling is wonderful. The staff - especially Georgia, the Waiting Staff Supervisor in The Pier, - were friendly and helpful.
