Travel Tips for Freeport City

by Arubasun.

The people in Grand Bahama are very, very friendly. You would find locals that go out of their way to help. If you are looking for a place and you stop to ask a local they will happily help you out and give a detail explanation. My friends and I were debating which route to take to head to West End and this local guy pulls up in his vehicle and explained us the way to West End without us asking for any help, that was just one of the nicest things you can treassure from your travel experience to Grand Bahama. Locals often greet you on the streets and often ask if you are enjoying yourself on the island. It gives you a feeling that they do care, visiting Nassau, Harbour Island, Spanish Wells and Paradise Island, I must say that Grand Bahama Island has the friendliest people in The Bahamas.

"Grand Bahama, Freeport"

Freeport/Lucaya is the second largest city in the islands, and one of the most popular cruise ships destinations in the Bahamas. The city was designed mostly for the tourist trade. You can find there lots of aduty-free shopping and many attractions like casinos , restaurants ect

"Something for woman"

There is 10-acre International Bazaar in downtown Freeport. It is divided into sections that represent different parts of the world, each with its own collection of shops and restaurants. Also don't miss Port Lucaya Marketplace and Marina, located across from the beach in Lucaya. Thats easy to spend hours over there walking around but its taking minutes to get rid of all money !

"Water everywhere!"

If you like a beautiful ocean you will enjoy this place !

Its been 10 years since I've been back but I still remember that beautiful blue ocean and weather. We had our family reunion here. It was a trip I'll never forget. My people were so hospitable and didnt have a care in the world. There was a free spirit about the island.
