Long Island Hotel treat
by Gammy1968 about Stella Maris Resort
This is a home away from home for me. Everybody working at Stella Maris is great, friendly and helpful.
In the bungalows you can also serve your own cooked meals as they have kitchens and the supplies you can get from a grocery store. The location is great, you can hear the ocean when you go to sleep from almost every room.
There is a transport service to the different beaches and the marina so you don´t have to drive yourself.

If you do not stay at this hotel you can still come here and have an excellent dinner.
You have to make a reservation because this is not a secret tip anymore and if the hotel is fully booked the tables are usually full.
The ambience is very tropic and Bahamian and therefore very comfortable. The seafood is absolutely fresh, try conch salad, crawfish and the fresh hot home made buns.... yummy
I have always been staying at the hotel and my meals were included in the price so I can not give any price per dish here.
Long Island - beautiful island

"Stella Maris"
If you like crystal clear turquoise waters go to Long Island and visit beautiful Stella Maris Resort.
This is the Carribean side of the island with beautiful "Cape beach" as it is called in short.
"Diving"
This is me in pink diving together with a friend.
The visibility is very good almost every day and the dive guides are great.
At Stella Maris they have shark dives every week and I have been on many at the different times I have been there and it always was a very special experience.
Security for the divers is always given the highest priority and I personally have always felt absolutely safe on these dives.
The treat is when the dive guide presents you with your own just then broken out shark tooth after the commotion of the feeding is over.... I have a small box at home where I keep every litlle tooth I ever got.
"Sunset"
It is said that when the sun sets the second it touches the water you can hear a hiss and and see a faint green spot. That?s what I tried to capture in this picture. I have rarely seen any sunsets more beautiful than on Long Island.
