The Atlantis can be cheap or expensive, it all depends on which tower you would like to have your room and in the season of the year. People of all types of income stay at the Atlantis Resort.

By the way, do you see that bridge that connect the hotel towers of the Atlantis together on the picture, that is actually an entire suite, it is like a huge mansion, and the average rate for that runs at 25,000 U.S. dollars per night. Michael Jackson and Oprah Winfrey stayed in there.

Unique Quality: It is a huge resort with every amenity you can imagine, beaware its like a Las Vegas type theme resort in the Caribbean.

Loved the Atlantis & Harborside

by A TripAdvisor Member

Went to Nassau in June 2004. Stayed at Harborside for 6 nights and Coral Towers for 2 nights. Loved both hotels. We traveled with 4 children so Harborside really came in handy, being we had a double lock off, so we had 2 washers and 2 dryers. This really is the way to go, if you are worried about laundry. Way less to pack! They have shuttle busses that run like every 3 minutes, we never waited long. The busses take you right over to the Atlantis. Pick the bus with the tower sign on the side of the bus and it will take you there. This is really ideal for people traveling with several young children. Atlantis is very big. Pictures do not do it justice. From the Beach Tower to the Royal Tower is probably 1 mile. It is very massive and beautiful. Just the walk from the slides at the Royal tower to the Royal tower lobby is a hike. although a shortcut is through the Dig and that is something to see everytime you walk through it.
The Coral towers are very nice also. We had 2 connecting rooms. I could deal with this because we were only in them for 2 nights. I had 7 people so I was worried about laundry.
Before we traveled I read about a family who brought rolling collapsable coolers. They brought them on as carry on. We did that. That was probably the smartest thing we could have done. My husband and I each had one. I filled 1 container in each ice chest with snacks for the kids. then with the rest of the room, I put bottled water and capri sun with the straws. But with no ice. Also, jar of peanut butter, coffee, cans of ravioli. some seasonings and that really helped out. So when we arrived, we were exhausted and had a few things to eat and drink. The groceries there are very, very expensive. 1 case of bottled water was $18. Cheap detergent, $10. But we still saved money by not getting the meal plan until we were in the hotel. Watch out for taxi drivers. Make sure you get a price before you get in to the cab!! Tip: If you stay at Harborside, Just walk down to the bridge and get on the Ferry. It takes you into Nassau, right by the straw market, for $6 round trip, and it only takes 10 minutes. By cab it would be more and take longer. Last ferry leaves Nassau at 6pm.
Make sure to bring anything you can possibly think you will need that you don't have to buy there. Tylenol, cold medicine, sunscreen, film, water shoes.
Make sure to take the Powerboat Adventure excursion. Expensive, but well worth it!!! And the Dolphin excursion was nice too!!
Hope this helps!!!

Bahamas best getaway

by oliver9023 about Atlantis Resort

Amazing service!!! The food is fantastic, the swimming pools, parasailing, lagoon, crystal clear waters...now I know why they call it Paradise Island. There are literally hundreds of different aquariums and a tunnel under the shark tank that the kids will love!!! Excellent educational opportunity for kids. The aquariums have thousands of sea creatures and there are tours of the feeding times.

Comfort Suites

by XKuger about Hotel

We stayed at the Comfort suites in Nassau and Paradise isle. Its the only value in Nassau... well not realy a value, one would call it a value compared to the exorbitant rates next door at the Atlantis.

The hotel was nice and clean as we upgraded to the superior room and it has a coffee maker and a refrigrator to store food etc. Everything worked and the staff were very nice. Breakfast is about average... anything outside the standard breakfast buffet you pay standard exorbitant bahamas prices.. The most unique quality of this hotel I would say was the unrestricted accesss to the Atlantis resort.

Pricey Paradise

by midwesttrvlr about Atlantis Resort & Casino

We recently visited The Atlantis for a work trip (sales incentive), otherwise, we would not have afforded to stay here! The staff was 1/2 pleasant, 1/2 mad that you were there - the staff near the pool area was great, but the casino staff was fairly stuffy.

We stayed in the "Coral Towers", which are the older of the accomodations, but had the best views and most central location by far. We were right near most of the restaurants and the casino - convenient for those 4am trips back to the room!

Be aware, The Atlantis is NOT CHEAP - I don't know how much a room runs, but we wold order a case (24) of canned beer by the pool for our group and it was $165!!! Dinner at NOBU (Excellent!) was $200 for 2 of us with 2 bottles of Sake...

Great pool, very fun slides/lazy river, and great restarants - rooms have some good views (ours overlooked the entire pool and the ocean!), but need some updating (bad hairdryers, no amenities) in the Coral Tower. I did hear from a co-worker that the Royal Towers had plasma TV's in their room...

Like Stepping into Another World

by starship about The Atlantis Resort

One of the most well-known hotels in the world, the Atlantis Hotel on Paradise Island is in itself a destination. Once you have seen its architectural profile, its characteristic pink and tourquoise towers and the Rialto-like bridge connnecting them, you will never forget it!!

Though having never slept here, I have visited the Atlantis several times. I would say the rooms here are not the main reason people come--its the whole package. The inside of the hotel is grand and luxurious. There is a casino (of course), a very upscale duty-free shopping arcade, many restaurants and bars, the extremely famous several million-gallon aquarium which has a large viewing area inside the hotel--it is the world's large man-made marine habitat!! And then there are the fabulous features outside the hotel!!! A large amount of space is devoted to an "archeological dig" and lagoons, and the famous Inca-looking water slide which shoots you through a tube and through the aquarium!!

Thank heaven you can purchase a guided tour of much of the hotel and its grounds because there is so much to see. Non-staying guests are barred from entering many areas of the hotel and grounds otherwise the place would be inundated with sightseers. Check the info. office in the middle of the casino for tour times, and to purchase tickets.

The hotel plans scores of daily activities for its guests and there is a daily program which outlines events, places & times because it is extensive. Once again here is a hotel that has an ultra prime location, beautiful buildings & grounds and lagoons and pools galore. But that waterslide has to be one of the most fabulous in the world. I'm not sure I would have the courage, even though you are in a clear tube; to see sharks swimming around it would be just a little too thrilling for me!

The nearby marina is a fabulous place to see the yachts of the rich and famous!

"Bachler Party"

Atlantis is a very nice resort. So many things to do. We didn't really leave the resort. Best thing to do is hang out at the beach.

"Coconut Drinks"

Not every day someone will make you a drink on the beach using a coconut as a glass!

Atlantis bahamas

by jusme223

Can someone tell me if you are not staying at the Atlantis in Paradise Island Bahamas, can you still use their facilities for a fee

Re: Atlantis bahamas

by klmousseau

No, you are not supposed too. You can get a day pass i think, but it's pricey. The casino and lobby areas are free to enter. The pool & lagoon area, are free to walk around, though you are not supposed to use the towels or the facilities. You can get a tickets to go through the underwater aquarium part.
In the past, when off the cruise ship, I sat for the afternoon on a lounge chair near the lagoon; just pick a spot that's "out of the way" and make it look like you belong there. The only way they can tell you're not a guest is from a bracelet that guests wear. They won't bother you if your in an area that;s not busy - the worst they can do is ask you to leave.

Re: Atlantis bahamas

I know that it's quite pricey for non-guests to use the pool, water slides, etc. at Atlantis, but can someone tell me if they think my two grandsons, ages 12 and 15 would enjoy it? I'm taking them on a cruise and we'll be in Nassau all day.

Re: Atlantis bahamas

by klmousseau

I think 12 and 15 year olds would love it. It is pricey though. If your cruise ship offers a slide, maybe that'll be enough for them and you can visit the beach and do other things instead. I believe the beach nearby offers water sports, like jet skis, or banana boat rides, paragliding. There is also snorkeling or the Atlantis submarine (i think they have one there)?
