This magnificent all inclusive resort sets on Cable Beach, and is the only Four Diamond hotel in the Bahamas. It offers 7 pools, including 2 colonnaded pools with swim-up bars, 8 world-class gourmet restaurants, continental breakfast room service, every land and water sport from a penthouse fitness center to scuba diving. From lavish suites to hospitality beyond compare, this resort is the ultimate romantic place to spend your honeymoon!
We had a large room with a great view of the beautiful garden. You could also say that we had our private pool, since most of the other guests used the mainpool, we had the (smaller) pool and the jacuzzi often to ourselves, which was of course fantastic. Naturally the staff of the hotel was very helpfull and very friendly. The resort also offers a Spa collection to indulge yourself in a full menu of restorative treatments and salon services, cleansing body wraps, Swedish massage, sense stimulating aromatherapy and organic skin care products. These are just a few options that await you when you take the time to replenish at Sandals. Also the food in the restaurants was excellent. The salmon bagles are so fine, you just wanne eat your fingers with them. Once a week there is a BBQ on the beach with excellent steaks, fish and salades. You also must try the a-la-carte restaurant which is amazing good! What definitely makes this resort so special, is that It also offers an offshore island named Sandals Cay, making Sandals Royal Bahamian two exotic islands for the price of one. Sandals Cay features a pool, a whirlpool, a swim-up pool bar, a traditional Caribbean restaurant and a white-sand beach. We truly had an amazing time at Sandals. With al its pampering, you'll have no idea what will hit you. Before I forget, Sandals Royal Bahamian is a couples only resort. Read: no children! When I first arrived, we were greeted with the utmost respect. We were taken to the reception desk where we were given a moist towel to wipe our hands off and accompanied with that was a glass of champagne. Very delicious and such a warm welcome by the receptionists. After checking in, we were then able to enjoy our first meal at a few different restaraunts that they offered and the one we chose was "Spices" which is a buffet style restaurant. The lunch was great. As far as our hotel room went, we stayed in a Deluxe style room which had a wonderful view of the ocean. The only thing that was strange was they had plastic chairs for such a nicely done up room which was so unappropriate. The bathroom wasn't all that great since it had rust around the knobs and the tub. If those 2 things were done up right I wouldn't have a negative thing to say about the room.
The pool area was breathtaking. Exactly what they had described in the brochure that I had requested before arriving. We wandered throughout the grounds and enjoyed the beautiful clean water. Something that you won't see in California. The swim up pool bar was great. The whole staff at the resort was so courteous. We went to the japanese restaurant Kimono's on our first night and were seated with a group of other couples and enjoyed a dinner show which consisted of the chef cooking in front of us. It's such a great experience. Sandals was not bad, but I have to say it was under my expectations. We have a great time in general, and Sandals facilities (specially the pool) were good, but has also some bad points, like the state of the rooms. We have standar rooms (the called "Deluxe") at main building, and all this building really need a renovation. We have great views, the bed was very good and the room was big enough, but we have a big problem with the bathroom. The pipes were "crying" all day & night!!! When somebody at other room get a shower or simply open a tap, water start to flow on our own bathroom and an incredible noise started! You laugh when this happen at 11:00 a.m., but when is 4:00 or 5:00 a.m. it's really annoying... We didn't know if this only happen in this building, but we have paid already a lot for this vacations, and we decided not to upgrade the room and reserve the money for some great excursions (see things to do). We think that things like that in this kind of resort can't happen, even in the standart rooms... About restaurants: We really enjoy Casanovas, Kimonos (this really depends on the cheff and the group of people you join, we went twice and the second was much better, food is secundary), and Cafe Goombay (look with the mosquitos, better for lunch). Breakfast at Spices was simply perfect, but the lunch and dinner buffet was a little bit boring... Beach is not very long, but for us was great, because was not crowed, water is so clear and sand is perfectly white. Pools were the best, one quite and other for water activities. We really enjoy pool-basket and pool-volley. For Spanish people or hispanos: we didn't find anybody from Spain or South America. Everybody is from the States in Sandals, so prepare to practice your English all time with the rest of the guests. For the hotel, they have Isabella in Embassadors, a very nice girl who speaks Spanish and will help you in everything you need.
The point of Sandals is the "Couple policy", so the resort is really quite as there are no children running on the pools. There are other special resorts for families (you have Atlantis in Nassau), so this is a good choice for romantic vacations. Theme: HotelComparison: more expensive than averageDirections: Cable beach

This is a great adult vacation. The hotel was beautiful. The food was out of this world.. however did have to wait till closer to the end of our stay to get to eat at some places. Make your reservations right when you get to your hotel room. Drinks plentiful and pools were great. Had a nice spa but pretty spendy. $45 for a manicure. Would recommend.
