Sandyport Beaches Resort

I have stayed there four dirfferent times. It is close to the airport and many shopping areas. It is in an affluent area of the island, yet close to various other resorts and activities.
We have been treated great by all the staff; and the grounds and the facilities are always clean and fresh. The food is good and there are many great restaurants nearby. There is great and inexpensive transportation options available to Cable Beach, Paradise Island, Downtown and other parts of the New Prvince area; and their are great tours one may take where you can be picked up right at Sandyport. There is also great shopping and Balley's Gym right at the entrance to the resort. Use of the gym's equipment it is complimentry to Sandyport members and guests. You can not beat that!
The beautiful pool and water slide are just out your front door and the beautiful, romantic beach is located just a few steps from the lodging. There are many ways to relax here or you can join the night life down the beach or on other parts of the island.
The people of the Bahamas are the friendliest in the world and they work hard to get our business.
When we bought at Sandyport we had been to many other resorts and hotels in the Islands and fell in love with the quiteness of the resort and the location. Close to everything, but far enough away to avoid the crowds if you so desire. Great for family and couples. Singles can feel safe and yet have a great time in Nassau while living at Sandyport Beaches Resort. fnna
As owners at Sandyport, we love it. Sarah and the front desk staff have been great. Often tourists are not nice to staff and are often pushy. However mainland people (from the states and europe) need to recognize that the natives who work at resorts do so to care for their guests and do a lot to make thier guests stay confortable. It works best for everyone when guests are happy. Things sometimes happen but people need to be patient and understanding.
Sometimes rooms may not be ready when people arrive for various reasons, but generally it is not because the resort does not want you to get in early. Too often guests want something other than what is ready for them, and the staff, in trying to accomodate them, may inavertantly cause a delay for another guest. Sometimes you are the guest being helped or the one that may be temporarily inconvenienced. Peope arrive at all times of the day and it is difficult...I am sure...for resort staff to always have things the way even they would like them to be, but they do their best.
For example I have arrived and had just the right accomodations I requested. Other times I have had to wait more than I wanted to but in the end I was pleased with the accomodations and with the staff's assistance. When we are rude to staff how can we expect them to go out of thier way to please us. They are poeple and have feelings and we need to realize that. My wife and I love Sandy port and we will be back as often as we can find the time and money, even when it is not our scheduled time to be there.

We stayed at the Sandyport Beaches Hotel, very clean, and the accomodation was quite big. We did move rooms because after four days the water heater didn't work and we were without water, but they moved us into other accomodation which was of the same standard. On site there is a restaurant, three pools [although we couldn't use the pools due to hurricane damage which they were repairing.] Nearby there were other restaurants. There is a lagoon which goes around the site and the ocean is just a few steps away.
We used this through our timeshare.
Can't wait to go back!

This was my second stay at sandyport beach resort and i have to admit i had the time of my life. We were four woman on vacation and we were treated like queens by all staff members. The pools were great and the beach was fabulous. The resort boasts a few different dining options of which we tried and were satisfied with all. The grounds were breathtaking and the rooms were comforatble and clean. Overall we were happy and would recommend sandyport to anyone.
Light'n up folks

First off, for someone thats never traveled to the caribbean, you will most likely not be pleased with anything. These people don't live like most folks in the states and thats the greatest part of the caribbean. Sandyport is a nice resort, clean by caribbean standards, good food close by, and nice beaches. Granted the Bahamas are at the bottom of the chain when it comes to Island life, but its far better than anything in the states. The whole U.S. could take a lesson on life from the people down there. So get a good rate, go and enjoy a different way of life. I will defintley be going back to Sandyport every chance I get.

we stayed here at sandyport resort and got sick. we broke out in hives and headaches from the dust , the ant spray, the film of improperly diluted cleaning chemicals. we purchased a seven doller turkey sandwhch and it had barely two pieces of meat on it. we also asked for a copy of our vacation sampler contract while we were there and never received it. u

After spending a wonderful week at the Sandyport Beach Resort in Nassau, Bahamas, I cannot understand how other folks have written uncomplimentary reviews. Our stay was outstanding.
As promised, we were met right on time by Sandyport arranged transportation at the airport. As we arrived at the resort, the rain from an tropical storm began. Special kudos to Cameron who somehow escorted all of us into the lobby under two umbrellas. He could not do enough for us throughout our stay!
Our two bedroom unit was spacious, clean, and contained more than enough towels, shampoos, soaps, etc. The full kitchen contained plenty of dishes, pots, pans, etc. Although we only ate breakfast in the room (not counting the wine, beer, and popcorn we consumed everynight), the full kitchen enhanced our enjoyment.
Two dinners and a lunch at the Coco Loco on site restaurant were all very good. All of the restaurant staff were friendly and efficient. Our only criticism was that it took about an hour to finally receive our pizza.
The "three" pools that the resort advertises really is only one large pool with two small dividers. The pool was clean and inviting.
We spent most of our time at the beach which was a few minute walk from our room. Sufficient number of good quality beach lounges were availabe. The beach was beautiful! - very clean and safe with the Coco Loco Restaurant right there for lunch, Bahama Mamas, etc.
As other reveiwers have mentioned, cabs are expensive and driving on the left side of the road will be problem for U.S. car renters on the island. We really enjoyed riding the readily available #10 bus (only $1.00) local bus which took us through Cable Beach right into the city of Nassau for shopping, looks at cruise boats, supreme court, forts, etc. Don't miss a stop at the FishFry (ask the bus driver) for some great local Conch or other fish.
We played golf at the very nice Cable Beach golf course (Radisson Hotel course) for only $45.00 (twilight rate at 4:00 p.m - no problem playing 18 holes). The course was very nice; not great, but fun.
Contrary to other reviews, we found all of the staff to be very friendly and professional. They quickly responed to all requests including the need for a light bulb, a reading lamp, corkscrew, and extra towels.
The two guys especially enjoyed the complimentary use of the Bally fitness center that is right at the resort.
The beach next to the marina/inlet was very scenic yet needed management to pay more attention to its upkeep.
Great dinner was had at Johnny Canoe's Restaurant in Cable. All in all stay away if you want formal, 5 star royal vacation. Choose Sandyport if you want a casual, friendly, relaxing, fun vacation spot. email me if you want anyother info. We loved it!

After a 12 hour journey from the UK, we arrived at Sandyport, obviously via the customs whom I was slightly apprehensive of - couldn't of been nicer, the lady at the desk was shaking her booty to the steel band playing (what a welcome to the Bahamas). The welcome at the resort was very smooth, the staff couldn't of been more helpful, and that continued for the whole holiday. We had fresh towels and bed linen on request. Basically to sum up the whole of our hols, fabulous people, wonderful food, great weather (even a day indoors from hurricane wilma and her stray winds couldn't ruin the holiday mood). The resort as a whole is very friendly. The accomadation was very adequate considering there were 7 of us. Make sure you eat a either of the poop deck resaurants (fabulous), and a great themed restaurant in Jonny Canoes (nikki was lovely). Also, the powerboat excursion (powerboat adventure) is a must, it was a fabulous day. Ask for Kim in the straw market for a good hair braid. Couldn't of asked for a greater holiday, we will definatly be returning.
p.s, we had no problems with ants....just make sure you put all food away, and leave a bowl of water outside your door to wash the sand of your feet, makes life easier !!!
