This hotel was the second part of our honeymoon and arriving there after being spoiled at Freeport it was a big disappointment.

Basically I picked this hotel based on my passion for mythology and hypes about it when it opened it (they featured it in so many shows and movies). So I must say it was a good experience to stay there and go somewhere else on the next visit to Nassau.

We stayed in a 3rd class rooms - Beach Tower. Which was more expensive then some first class rooms we stayed in in other places. We had little ants in our room. And who does not have coffee maker in the room for $300 per night? So we are spoiled Americans, but when we pay the price we expect something.

The staff there was pretty rude. They know they have customers all year around and they realize they don't really have to try.

If you want to get the Atlantis experience, it's best to just stay in some small private hotel and just visit Atlantis for a day. You will have to pay there for a day bracelet and a towel to use their pools.

This place is not romantic it's more like a combo of Las Vegas and Disneyland.

The best part of being there was to lay out at the (tiny) beach and get a coconut drink!
(because you will need it with screaming kids all over)

Unique Quality: Hmm, unique? Architecture and Aquarium.

Looking at sharks was really sad though, they have all their teeth removed (obviously for legal issues) which does not look natural and decreases the sharks life. And some of the fish there was way too big for the aquarium, they are obviously there for the presentation.

ATLANTIS PARADISE ISLAND BEACH TOWER

EXTREMELY OVERPRICED AND RUDE EMPLOYEES. THE PROPERTY IS BEAUTIFUL.. GO AND VISIT, BUT A STAY IS NOT ADVISED. IF YOU DO COME, BE PREPARED TO PAY. THEY ALSO TACK ON A HOUSEKEEPING FEE, FEE FOR CHILDREN OVER 12, FEE FOR THIS AND FEE FOR THAT. THE ROOMS ARE AVERAGE. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT UNLESS YOU JUST HAVE MONEY TO BURN. YOU CAN FIND OTHER PLACES THAT ARE WELCOMING.

paradise on paradise island

I stayed at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island for Spring Break 2004. It was the best vacation ever! The facilities were amazing! There were a total of 11 pools, a mall, a casino, waterslides, resturants and more. The staff were all very friendly and willing to help with anything. The only bad thing about the Atlantis resort is that everything from the rooms, to food, to souveniers were very expenpensive. But if you leave the resort you can find foods and souvinears for a more reasonable price. I would definetly recommend this resort to anyone from families to honeymooners. I am planning a trip to the Atlantis next summer!

Unique Quality: The views at the resort are amazing. Just looking at the royal towers at night all lit up is an experience in itself. The pools are huge and all have waterfalls and interesting charactoristics. Everything in the resort was tidy and well kept including the rooms, restrooms, and pools.

Best Resort in the Bahama's by Far !

This Resort is the BEST. There are endless things to do and see. Water sports, Casino action, archeological dig, spa services. You name it and Atlantis has it. The rooms are fabulous. The beds are top quality and the furnishings were new and very upscale. I will tell you that there were pieces of Limoges china in our suite ! I enjoyed the view from the balcony of our room many times as the sun rose each morning. It was great way to start the day. The place was manicured down to the last detail. All the bells and whistles ! The gourmet food was to DIE for......we tried to sample everyting I think...
I would recommend this resort to any and every one. They can meet your needs, whatever they may be. Their standards are HIGH.

Unique Quality: This place has it all !
There are 5 different types of accomodations catering to every whim.

Lets begin :
(I am quoting the brochure. This place is enormous!!)

ROYAL TOWERS
Luxurious and upscale.
Great Hall of Waters provides a waterscape view. French balconies in the standard rooms and full balconies in the suits. This area is closest to the Spa, Sports Center, Mayan Temple water slides and , The Dig. The Casino, two pools, Cove Beach, marine exhibits and several gourmet restaurants.

IMPERIAL CLUB
Concierge level in the Royal Towers. They say this choice has the highest level of service and they mean it. It's located between the17th and 24th floors, by key access elevator. Food is served in the Club Lounge. The rooms and suits have Harbour or Waters views. This being in the Royal Towers it also has French balconies in standard rooms and full balconies in suits.

CORAL TOWERS
More contemorary and relaxed with an atrium lobby. Centrally located. (a good walk to everything). Rooms have full balconies. This one is closest to the Discovery Channel Camp, marine exhibits, a 7 acre snorkeling lagoon, main pool, water slides, Crystal Court Shops, Casino and several dining choices.

BEACH TOWER
Tropical decor with moderat priced rooms that have a terrace or water view. Atrium lobby and lounge. This tower is close to the beach, theater and confrence center.

HARBOURSIDE VILLAS
One and two bedroom villas for 4 to8 people (if your on a budget and need to share or for large families)
Full use of the Atlantis facilities, fitness room, Zero-entry pool, kids pool and a jet spa.
There are casual dining options here if you are too tired to dress for dinner or just want a quick bite.

very disappointing, our elevator did not work for three days of our five day stay. The beds are old matresses. The resort is not the five star we were led to believe that it was. The water and sea life attractions are the best part of the stay with two grand children with us ages 8 and 12 they loved discovery camp.

Best of Atlantis at a reasonable price!

by jburgos1 about Comfort Suites/Bahamas - Paradise Island

It was just a regular hotel room comfortable and nice, but the greatest amenity is that you have all the use of Atlantis Paradise Island but not the high rates of Atlantis hotel! I think it is worth it, it became like a home for us. We stayed there for our honeymoon. All the amenities of Atlantis, Paradise Island, Bahamas.

The Lagoon at Atlantis

by happyhourkid about Atlantis Paradise Island

This was the view from my room at Atlantis Paradise Island. It would be hard to imagine a better view than this, but then again just when you think this place can't get any better, it ususally finds a way to manage. From this balcony, you can look right through the clear blue waters and see thousands of marine wildlife. The Mayan Temple you see in the background is the waterslide which is essentially a 6 story freefall and thourgh an acrylic tube that runs through a gigantic shark tank, and inevitably out into one of this resort's many swimming pools.

A Destination Within a Destination

by happyhourkid about Atlantis Paradise Island

Behold, by far, the most incredible and unique resort on planet Earth. Atlantis Paradise Island. Not many resorts can be considered a Destination within itself, but Atlantis easily lives up to its legendary status. With over 2000 deluxe guest rooms, 35 restaurants and bars, and the world's largest aquarium (That's right. Amazing to know that only Mother Nature contains more fish than the Atlantis!) among other things, Atlantis is by far the most amazing temporary residence you will EVER have. By far, the aquarium is the most amazing aspect of the Atlantis Paradise Island. It features 11 lagoon exhibits and is home to over 50,000 sea animals varying from sharks, tortoises, giant stingrays, eels, tropical fish, and just about every other damn fish known to man.

What is equally incredible, is the fact that the architects managed to enable an up close and personal experience with all these awesome animals. At a couple of the restaurants, the walls are actually the glass of the aquarium. So basically, while you are eating your dinner you have sharks, stingrays, etc. just swimming calmly by your head. Also, imagine going down a waterslide in which the chute inevitably turns into a giant acrylic tube which sends you through this gigantic shark tank. All I have to say is, MY GOD.

The Shark Tank!

by happyhourkid about Atlantis Paradise Island

Here are a couple of the over 50,000 residents of the Atlantis aquarium. If you look in the background, you will see part of the "lazy river" which is actually a tube that takes you under the water and into the tank. How flipping awesome is that!!! Where else are you going to be able to inner-tube through or waterslide through a shark tank or aquarium. Nowhere but Atlantis. I'd say that is pretty unique.

We have been travelling to Nassau for 15 years and have found it very safe. I have been to other places in the Caribbean that I would never walk around alone even in the daytime. Atlantis is very safe and there is lots of security. Just use common sense in town and think the same way you would in any city, especially at night.

Atlantis is very safe. It is on a seperate island from Nassau with controlled access.

On the other, as downtown Nassau is relatively safe because of the very high tourist traffic, some parts of New Providence island are not places you should venture into, especially at night.
