very disappointing, our elevator did not work for three days of our five day stay. The beds are old matresses. The resort is not the five star we were led to believe that it was. The water and sea life attractions are the best part of the stay with two grand children with us ages 8 and 12 they loved discovery camp.
Best of Atlantis at a reasonable price!

It was just a regular hotel room comfortable and nice, but the greatest amenity is that you have all the use of Atlantis Paradise Island but not the high rates of Atlantis hotel! I think it is worth it, it became like a home for us. We stayed there for our honeymoon. All the amenities of Atlantis, Paradise Island, Bahamas.
The Lagoon at Atlantis
by happyhourkid about Atlantis Paradise Island
This was the view from my room at Atlantis Paradise Island. It would be hard to imagine a better view than this, but then again just when you think this place can't get any better, it ususally finds a way to manage. From this balcony, you can look right through the clear blue waters and see thousands of marine wildlife. The Mayan Temple you see in the background is the waterslide which is essentially a 6 story freefall and thourgh an acrylic tube that runs through a gigantic shark tank, and inevitably out into one of this resort's many swimming pools.
A Destination Within a Destination
by happyhourkid about Atlantis Paradise Island
Behold, by far, the most incredible and unique resort on planet Earth. Atlantis Paradise Island. Not many resorts can be considered a Destination within itself, but Atlantis easily lives up to its legendary status. With over 2000 deluxe guest rooms, 35 restaurants and bars, and the world's largest aquarium (That's right. Amazing to know that only Mother Nature contains more fish than the Atlantis!) among other things, Atlantis is by far the most amazing temporary residence you will EVER have. By far, the aquarium is the most amazing aspect of the Atlantis Paradise Island. It features 11 lagoon exhibits and is home to over 50,000 sea animals varying from sharks, tortoises, giant stingrays, eels, tropical fish, and just about every other damn fish known to man.
What is equally incredible, is the fact that the architects managed to enable an up close and personal experience with all these awesome animals. At a couple of the restaurants, the walls are actually the glass of the aquarium. So basically, while you are eating your dinner you have sharks, stingrays, etc. just swimming calmly by your head. Also, imagine going down a waterslide in which the chute inevitably turns into a giant acrylic tube which sends you through this gigantic shark tank. All I have to say is, MY GOD.
The Shark Tank!
by happyhourkid about Atlantis Paradise Island
Here are a couple of the over 50,000 residents of the Atlantis aquarium. If you look in the background, you will see part of the "lazy river" which is actually a tube that takes you under the water and into the tank. How flipping awesome is that!!! Where else are you going to be able to inner-tube through or waterslide through a shark tank or aquarium. Nowhere but Atlantis. I'd say that is pretty unique.

We have been travelling to Nassau for 15 years and have found it very safe. I have been to other places in the Caribbean that I would never walk around alone even in the daytime. Atlantis is very safe and there is lots of security. Just use common sense in town and think the same way you would in any city, especially at night.

Atlantis is very safe. It is on a seperate island from Nassau with controlled access.
On the other, as downtown Nassau is relatively safe because of the very high tourist traffic, some parts of New Providence island are not places you should venture into, especially at night.
