Just on the north-west flank of the QPS this hotel stands at the gateway to POS leafy upscale areas of ST Clair and Ellerslie Park. The neighborhood of the Kapok...

The neighborhood of the Kapok Hotel in in Port of Spain is relatively peaceful, near the Presidential Palace, the botanical gardens and the zoo. Rooms are modest but pleasant (ask for a park view). While the pool is nothing to write home about, the hotel's restaurants are excellent: downstairs, try callaloo or fried flying fish at the Caribbean-style Cafe Savanna; upstairs, to a sweeping view, dine Polynesian in the Tiki Village.

One night in Port of Spain - where to stay?
by Redaxe
I'll be stopping over in Port of Spain for one night. Does anyone have any recommendations about where to stay? Cheap and safe is all I'm looking for.
