Comfort Suites: Economical Lodging, no frills though...

We generally stay in small condo's along the beach when traveling to the Caribbean, but last year opted for a 'go today' type trip to Providenciales that included a stay at the Comfort Suites.

Many people don't like this hotel as it does not sit on the beach. However, if one has a car, this is not such a big deal...unless you are totally into the 'beach' experience.

Our family is more the outdoors type, and are in the water, snorkeling or diving. We're not much for lazing on the beach. We more enjoy the 'exploring' of an island, meeting locals, and finding hidden treasures.

We use our lodging as more a place of quiet and to unwind...to sleep, shower or well...use the facilities.

Comfort Suites, while not the most beautiful place, or the place with the best spot on the beach (shoot, it isn't even on the beach) is still an option for any looking for something economical, clean, and they even toss in an 'alright' breakfast too!

Unique Quality: Actually a nice pool area.

Our room was very clean, bedding wonderful. Colleen at the front desk was amazing. No need for beach towels, they supply. Is just behind the Ports of Call shopping/restaurant mall (kind of a small strip mall type thiing) where you can shop, eat, and people watch.

Contenintal breakfast is served each morning.

The Quality Inn: Across the road from the beach

If you are traveling to Turks on a budget, there is nothing wrong with The Quality Inn. It might not be directly on the beach, but it is directly across the street from the beach. I went to this island with a friend and had a grand time at affordable prices. Its a solid three star hotel.

Unique Quality: There was a pool and bar area, but I spent most of the time on the beach or exploring the island. The one afternoon when it did rain, a whole group of people at the hotel sat around the pool bar and played cards. It was a blast!

Hotel Sibbone: Great value, comfortable rooms

I stayed in two different rooms at the Sibbone. I booked one month in advance and still couldn't get the room I wanted. This attests to the popularity of this hotel. The first room I stayed in was ground floor with a garden view. It was cheaper than the other room I stayed in that was upstairs and had an ocean view. Personally, I preferred the gardenview room because it was larger. You spend so much time on the beach at Provo that I'm not sure having a balcony to glimpse the sea during the few times you're actually in your room is worth it. Also, great a/c in both rooms.

Unique Quality: Attached to Hotel Sibbone is Bay Bistro. This place is fantastic. Upscale seafood dinners in the evening and moderately priced lunches. Bay Bistro is also closer to the water than any restaurant on Provo (except for the few in the marina--but you can't see the ocean very well from them).

Allegro Resort: Allegro All-Inclusive Resort

If your priority is enjoying the beach and the water with very little fuss, this relaxing all-inclusive resort is a great place to stay. No need to wonder about where and when to eat. Food and drinks were good (though not great) and there were activities for those who wanted them, but absolutely no pressure to join in. Rooms were standard, nothing fancy but clean and functional .... and isn't the objective to spend as LITTLE time there as possible anyway?? The all-important beach is right at your doorstep and it couldn't be any more perfect (read on .....).

Unique Quality: The beach is among the best in the world. The water is clean and clear, and the sand is pristine. No murky bottom or worrying about stepping on rocks when in the water here. Gentle rolling waves, beach slopes very gently, doesn't drop away suddenly like some places. It doesn't get any better than this.

You can do a little snorkeling right at the resort, but you're also within a half hour's walk or a short taxi ride of one of the best spots on the island (by the Coral Gardens hotel).

The pool here is also great! Shallow sloping edge at one end for smaller children. My favourite: loungers complete with drink rest built right into the pool for those who just want to relax and enjoy the water and the sun. Lots of umbrellas and chairs. Pool volleyball for those with energy. The pool is so huge that it's never crowded. It also has two built-in jacuzzis. Can't say enough about this pool, next to the beach it's the resort's best feature.

just relax: Gratuitous picture !

I couldn't resist this one. If you want to feel all the stress and strain just ooze from your body, it will start as soon as you step foot on the beaches.
