Best Western Carib Beach Resort

Rude staff, no running water, need I say more. This hotel was the worst of the worst. The lady who works the night shift, needs to take a course in customer service,. She was totally rude. Kept me and my wife standing at the front desk for nearly 10 minutes before acknowledging us. When we got to our room. The water had been shut off in all the rooms and remained off for almost 24 hours. No shower, couldn't brush our teeth. Couldn't do a thing. What the hotel could tell us about the problem and when it would be resolved, absolutely nothing. Oh and their so called wireless internet, well that was off and on, so my wife nor I could get a good continuous signal on either of our laptops. Needless to say my wife and I checked out of this dump the very next day and wouldn't recommend this place to our worst enemy. If you want rude service, no running water, and poor amenities, stay here. If not pick any other place on the island. THE ABSOLUTE WORST TRUST ME, and I travel alot and have been all over and this is by far the worst!!!

We stayed at the Best Western Carib Beach Resort, since we couldn’t get to our villa on St John until the next day. We knew this place was within walking distance from the airport and would save us a taxi ride. Being next to the airport, we didn't expect much but thought we could handle it for one night. Well we were pleasantly surprised. While an older resort, it is being refurbed nicely. The price is probably the best value on St Thomas. It has a sister resort the Best Western Emerald Bay Resort just down the road (with a free shuttle between the two resorts), It has 2 restaurants (both very good), 2 bars, 2 pools and 2 beaches. The airport noise was really not bad as there are only minimal flights in/out each day. They stop flying in mid evening.
We liked it so much that when on our return from St John, when we found our selected other resort to be uninhabitable, we were able to book for another 3 nights at the Best Western Carib Beach Resort.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stays and will definitely come back there again.
The price/value is excellent and the staff very friendly.
If you have an early morning flight (ours was at 7am), the convenience of being "already at the airport" is great. Truly, a max. 5 minute walk over to the terminal.

I was planning to stay at this hotel, but my wedding coordinator (who lives on the island) told me that it was right across the street from the airport. Convenient, yes, but very noisy! She did say that the rooms & beach were very nice, so if you don't mind the noise, by all means stay there.
