Sapphire beach was within walking distance of the room I previously spoke of at another location. Even better for us was that it was only a couple mile walk and we had all the ammenities one not checked in could ask for.
They offered open air dining and even waited on you while you sunned out on the beach in your lounge chair. The service there was great from an onlookers point of view. Dont get me wrong, we weren't mooching. We rented snorkeling gear from the great diving shop that they had and ate the best 10.00USD Hamburgers in our lives. Of course those were the only ten dollar hamburgers we had ever had in our lives.
The free cushy beach towels are still enjoyed by us both. Compliments of the rum soaked tourists that leave them laying on the beach at nite. If only they realised the dammage these items do to props on boats.
Oustanding areas at Sapphire Beach have to be the 15' walk it takes to enter the beautiful clear shoreline. The sandy beach area is easy on the feet compared to many beach areas that would peel the sole off a good pair of tennis shoes by days end.
The fish are very friendly and love for you to bring some bread or crackers with you while you swim under the surface with them. This was definantly a Jacque Coustea' experience for me and made the entire trip worth it.
Do be mindful of the sea urchins. They are around every corner of most of the rock and Coral near shore. Remembering also to keep your feet off of the coral that still lives in the areas waters for it is sorely needed by all the under water inhabitants.
The views from Sapphire Beach are indicative of its namesake. When the sun begins to set for the evening, every color thats soothing to the soul can be seen and even better, theres not alot of motorized crafts flying by in front of it to interrupt a moment of its bliss
