great tirana hostel

the owner was very friendly and nice, rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable.
the breakfast was small though, just a little coffee and a pastry but lots of places nearby to eat,
the hostel was also very handy for the centre, a good starting point to see tirana.i would stay there again and also recommend it for those on a budget.

Unique Quality: i think the best thing about this hostel is the nice owner.

The best place so far in Tirane

I saw the place mentioned on LP and on Hostelworld.com and printed out a 2 page info sheet
with the intention of staying here, alas I forget to write down the address so my travel
companion chose another place mentioned in the Bradt's 2008 edition Guide called the Guva.
The next morning I set out in search of Freddy's but with no street names and my Albanian restricted to
about 6 words found it an almost impossible task, later on in the afternoon made a more determined attempt
with an Albanian in tow, a resident of Tirane, but even Harry as he called himself took us around in circles.
But later with the instructions in Freddy's website and a phone called to Freddy, he came to meet us, we were only 2 minutes away and at last I got to see the place I had been searching for.

Freddy is a really switched on guy, pleasant and the perfect host, he was light years ahead in his planning
and set up with rooms for accomodation in 3 buildings. This is the future for backpackers and travelers in Tirane. He will be the future. After a 12 lighting tour of all the different places, I was well impressed but as
it was just shy of 6pm, a bit stupid to change accom that late as we were leaving the next day headed north for Montenegro and my Albanian friend Harry was all pins and needles from restlessness and eagerness to take us up into the nearby Tirane hill/mountain resteraunt for a good meal and a view of Tirane at sunset.

Unique Quality:

Very clean and spotless, brand newly refurbished rooms with good showers and flushing normally toilets, the Guva Hotel where we were was pretty pathetic considering the price.

Also the good option of just paying per person and no cheapo bunk beds but all mod cons...
Slap bank middle of Tirane with just 3 mins walk of the Skandeberg Square..situated on a street just off the square.

Prices between €12 to €14 per person per night..
