Modern and international

I stayed at the Tirana International Hotel for two nights in September 2009 and really enjoyed my time there. First of all the staff was very friendly, helpful and service minded. The room was a little small, but nice and clean and with all the modern standard facilities such as cable TV, phone, mini-bar, internet connection, electronic-pin-protected safety box, air conditioning and more. Furthermore, my room had a great view of the Skanderbeg Square and I think it would be worth asking for a room with a view.

The breakfast was continental with both hot and cold items. It was served on the second floor again with a nice view over the Skanderbeg Square from the open air terrace. The lobby bar also had an open air terrace and this was also a nice place to sit and enjoy a drink and watch the daily life passing by.

The hotel had a great location at the centre of Tirana, next to the huge Skanderbeg Square, the National Museum and the Opera. Good place to start sightseeing in Tirana.

Tirana International Hotel

One of the most iconic buildings in Tirana is the Hotel International. Located on Skenderbeg Square it is in the perfect location, and was once the place to stay for visiting dignitaries and the few foreign nationals allowed into the country. It's grandeur is pure Soviet, but the views of the city square are reputed to be fantastic.

Because of its fame, and expense account popularity, it's one of the easiest places to book online.

Unique Quality: Great location and views.

In the very heart of the city

The building is a high-rise hotel, which is a restored contemporary building dating from 1979. It has 13 or 14 floors and you get a great view if you stay on one of the upper levels. I got a room on the 9th, overlooking the Skenderbeg Square so it was a nice view.

The room was clean, 40 TV channels, clean bathroom, the standard which you would expect from such an affordable, typically business traveller hotel. The location is great, it is really in the heart of the city.

Breakfast is the usual standard as well, however, you need to ask for the eggs and a cook would prepare it as you wish, based on your request, right away.

Unique Quality: The view is unique if you get an upper-floor room overlooking the hills or the Skenderbeg square.

Hotel Tirana

The photos were taken in 1988 and are here only to show how was the hotel at this time. The rooms were simple but comfortable.

In 2001 it was totally renovated to a four star hotel of international standards by an Italian firm, while still retaining its grandiose past features.

The prices are the 2006 prices taken on the web.

The best Hotel in Town

I didn't stay in this hotel, but I entered there to have a drink. I found here a very good service, and I was well surprised when I noted they had Madeira and Porto wines.

Unique Quality: The central location.

A nice hotel in Tirana

by benjamin1940 about Hotel Skerdi

We had a beautiful experience staying at Hotel Skerdi: the owner Adriano is really a kind and nice person, who speaks a perfect Italian, the staff is professional, the rooms are clean and the hotel is close to the centre of Tirana (10 minutes on foot from Scanderberg Square).
We recommend this hotel.

Cheap accommodation in Tirana

by vanelic about Hotel Endri

I stayed in Hotel Endri in October 2003. It is the cheapest accommodation I could find (EUR 20 for single room).

It is difficult to find the hotel so better call the manager to pick you up. Central location (all the monument are within the easy reach from the hotel), friendly and helpful manager (will pick you up wherever you want to), clean and modern rooms with bathroom, TV...

Simple, cheap, and clean Hotel in Tirana

by Goldtoes about Hotel Alpin

We stayed here for one night. We found it online. Check out website below. It was simple, inexpensive, and clean. We stayed in corner room. Some noise from street, but not bad at all. We slept fine. Maybe about $25 USD in July 2006 for two. The owners were kind and their son happened to be there and spoke English. It was about a 5 minute walk to the main square. It was worth it. Had breakfast there, too. Restaurant is part of it. It's on Siri Kodra.

Buses from Tirana to Kosovo (Peja)

by Nickmey

Could someone please send me details of the companies operating buses frpm Tirana to destinations in Kosovo?
I need a phone number in Tirana and an address where the buses leave Tirana, as I would like to ask when buses leave.

If you have an URL with a timetable with prices it would be super :)

I want to travel to Peja (Pec) from Tirana.

Thankyou :)

Re: Buses from Tirana to Kosovo (Peja)

There are no official schedules and prices. The busses are parked in front of Tirana International Hotel, and one needs to go over there and talk to the drivers! to find out the info. Usually buses to Kosovo leave early in the morning as to avoid the travel at night.

Buses to Kosovo depart every day in front of Tirana International Hotel, but at 18.00 and travel all the night arriving in Kosovo at the next morning.

The buses leave in late afternoon and travel through the night and arrive in Peja in early morning. They leave from nearby the Tirana International Hotel My ticket this last summer cost me 60E.
