Villa Tafaj - loved it
I adored it: friendly, nice building (not too many in Tirana!), room was fine, great bar below in the garden where the food is wonderful and the breakfasts are delicious. I paid 60€ for a 'Tafaj Room' (there was a choice of this and 50€ standard room, couldn't find any more information, the only thing I knew was that the Tafaj rooms must be better than the standard ones, so I chose the Tafaj). The only thing wrong with it was the typical Albanian allergy to shower curtains, even the good hotels don't seem to have them.
Can be booked through albania-hotel.com. I didn't get any reply from their email address when I wrote to try to book it directly.

A Great Downtown Hotel
This is one of the most outstanding hotels I have stayed in. The location is just two blocks off of Skanderbeg square. The staff will bend over backwards to help in any way, and there is an excellent courtyard restaurant serving excellent italian and albanian meals (receive 10% off your bill if you are a guest). To top it off there is a free laundry service for guests, though you have to wait for the clothes to air dry. There is also a free mini bar, though selection is limited to a couple of sodas and water). I have nothing but good things to say of this hotel and its staff. A twin room with courtyard view cost me 67 Euro, very reasonable for a nice hotel downtown.

Q: tirana to pogdorcia trains or buses "hi there does anybody know direct routes trains buses from tirana to pogdocia please"
A: "For sure no trains as there is no train line on that route, but i think there should be some kinda busses, but i do not know any details of it unfortunately."
