Super luxury for little money

Already during the communistic era Durres was a popular place for sunbathing and swimming. The only hotel there though was Hotel Adriatik.
Now, when Durres have developed into a touristic city with new hotels around every corner it's still the 5 star Adriatik that stands out.

We stayed here for three nights and didn't pay more than 95 euro for a double room, including breakfast. Huge room, although the bathroom was rather small. Good beds too.
Service was good and the staff was friendly and helpful. For another 70 euro we could have gotten a room with a view over the ocean, 40 meters from the hotel, but we felt that it was good enough to look out over the huge swimming pool.

The water in the ocean is unfortunately said to be rather unhealthy, and according to reports plenty of people have got skin problems after swimming. The beach is very nice though, and the guests at Adriatik has it's own private part of it, where sun chairs is included. There is a bar too, with good prices.

Most of the time we chose to stay in the swimming pool though. There is another bar there, and a huge pool.

Breakfast was included in the rate, and is said to be served until 11am. But when I came down at 10am the first morning I found the breakfast buffé taken away already, so for the rest of the stay I made sure to arrive earlier.

Not much to do around the hotel, but then we also arrived during low season. I would guess it's happening more during the high season.

Unique Quality: Just 40 meters away from the ocean, the beach right outside the hotel door.
