one day tour
is there any guided one day tour from barcelona, spain to andorra?
how much? thanks!
Re: one day tour
I used this site when I recently visited Barcelona. I don't see anything special about a day trip to Andorra, but you could search around. They do have very good trips to Montserrat so maybe they can help with what you are looking for.
Re: one day tour
There are many different bus lines that go from Barcelona to Andorra.
As for making it a day trip, it do not recommend that. Andorra is a few hours away, and after you take time to travel to/from, there is not enough left over to enjoy the area.
You should spend at least one night there.
Travel Tips for Andorra la Vella
Sunglasses, sunblock, photo filters!
Dress accordingly to weather. Check 10-day weather forecast for Andorra la Vella and keep in mind that in the mountains weather can change very fast.
Always take sunglasses. The sun in high mountains is always very sharp! Do not forget sunblock and do use it on time! Once I've seen a woman with severely burned face after only 1-2 hours on the sun in high mountains! Take and use various photo filters from the basic ones: UV in the mountains and polarizing filter which reduces non-metallic reflections of snow. In colder season be prepared to use chains while driving to Andorra la Vella. Snow storms at Port d'Envalira pass are possible even in September or May.
Andorra la Vella
SO WHAT ANDORRA LA VELLA ACTUALLY IS, OR AN OFFICIAL VIEW
Andorra La Vella (Catalan “Andorra the Old”, French Andorre la Vieille, Spanish Andorra la Vieja) - town, capital of the independent coprincipality of Andorra. It lies near the confluence of the Valira and the Valira del Norte rivers in the narrow Gran Valira valley, on the southern slopes of the Pyrenees.
Andorra la Vella long remained relatively isolated from the outside world. Its modernization began in the 1930s with the construction of carriage roads, and its population increased after World War II as a result of the growth of the tourist industry. In the 1960s and '70s Andorra la Vella was transformed from a rustic town into a busy commercial centre catering to shoppers and tourists. Winter sports areas are nearby. Because of Andorra's duty-free status, the town is now primarily a retail shopping centre for goods imported from elsewhere in Europe and from Asia. The General Council (Andorra's parliament) meets in Andorra la Vella. The town is connected by road to the Spanish and French frontiers and shares in both cultures. Pop. (1995 est.) 21,984.
