We stayed 2 ngihts at this cosy hotel in Escaldes, which is part of the HUSA chain... it's mainly for skiers, but we chose it because it was rigt across the road from the spa center Caldea.
Correct rooms with wooden floor - silent and clean. Kind of warm at night. Good breakfast.
Since there's no hostel in Andorra for backpackers, the cheapest option is to stay in a 1-star hotel. Hostal del Sol is located not in the main street so it's quite. There's a cheap eatiries just below the hotel.
Family run hotel, only 12 rooms with shared bathroom.
I spent one freezing cold night here at this campsite.
After a ride down through France en route to Barcelona, some bright spark suggested with the arrangement that we would have B&B on the way and camp when we arrived it was a surprise to me to have to camp at over 2000m. I had a tent and no sleeping bag!
In the end those of us bagless managed to buy a thin one at a local shop and shivver the night away.
BTW it was July.
Shop and swimming pool on site.
Also (now we find out!!) has bungalows to rent!
This hotel is not very big. It has few rooms but all of them with nice details. Everything you need in the room you have it.
Service very polite and friendly.
Buffete Breakfast is not very big and the food is not big deal.
Restaurant, really, really nice. Try the dinner here at least one night. It's kind of slow as in a deluxe restaurant... but worthy!!!
Outside parking two blosk from hotel.
Outside swimming pool right next to the parking lot.
Free spa in the hotel... sauna, jacuzzy, Turkish bath...
All the pictures in my hotel tips are not mine. Next time I go to Andorra I will take some photos.
Panorama hotel is located in Escaldes, for me Escaldes and Andorra la Vella is the same thing but not for locals.
When making a booking in this hotel do not forget to make it in half board, the breakfast and dinner buffet are great.
Rooms are average and views to the city are good. Ask for a room with city view.
It has swimming pool and jacuzzy on the topo of the building. The swimming pool is quite small.
Do not use their parking it is small and very hard to park. Just park in the side walk in front the hotel, does not matter and you save some money.. :-))
Remember hotels in Andorra are basic.
Normally, as you know from reading my other pages, I usually sleep on friends floors, hostels, overnight trains and in churches (long story - read my Brussels page). But seeing as the insurance company was paying for it, I went to one of the top hotels in town :)
I had an en-suite room with wide-screen tv, dvd, jacuzzi, HUGE bed (look, you could practically have an orgy in there!)and a shower with lots of fiddly digital controls and a laminated manual. I fell in loooooooooove with the bathroom! Remote-control jacuzzi, the shower had buttons to create a sauna or a hydromassage. Breakfast is 9€ extra. Complimentary bathroom goodies, dressing gown, slippers and stationery.
I'll be using this photo for my accomodation tips elsewhere in VT, but now you know where the room really is. ;-)
Os de Civis has a hotel up in the mountain - very cheap, doesn't have many ammenities but, then again, who needs anything else than a firelog after a hard day skiing?
5500 Pesetas a night per person - ed, Breakfast and Dinner
Most of the hotels are situated in Andorra la Vella. In the high season the hotels are very expensive but also you can find nice appartments to rent.
HOTEL AUSTRIA its the ideal site for ski-buffs, 2km. from the Grau Roig-Pas de la Casa ski-runs. The hotel is also within close distance to the important Andorran shopping area. they can also provide apartments and studio-flats across from the hotel
