Hi!
I went to Arinsal in march just gone. I had a fantastic time! The slopes were good, but not terribly varied for beginners. My dad said the big slopes were ok in Arinsal, but Pal had much better ones.
I was going out to the pubs/clubs every night and was paying around 3-4 euros for a drink, not as cheap as I expected but not as bad as UK prices anyway, haha.

Ski kit storage

by Rob-on-travel

Skiing or snowboarding in Arinsal - what to do with your ski gear? There are lots of options to store your ski gear in Arinsal.

Some tour companies will offer you space in a group ski locker at teh top gondola station, but I have heard that they are a bit crazy in the morning and afternoons and do not necessarily work out cheaper.

We hired a ski locker at the top gondola station. Cost was 7 Euros per day for a locker with room for 4 sets of skiis, poles, boots and anything else you can squeeze in (we had ski helmets too). There were brackets to keep your boots on, upside down so any snow drips off and the roof is cut out, so any length of skiis can fit in. The weekly hire rate was exactly the same as x times the day rate, so no extra discount there.

There are smaller lockers available or a simple shelf behind the cash desk at 4 Euros per day for a couple of pairs of shoes.

It wasn't actually a great hassle to carry our gear up each day as the ski bus runs regularly, however we had room in our apartment to store the ski gear. If you are in a hotel I think they usually want you to keep skiis etc in the garage which is not always secure.

The St Moritz ski shop, supermarket and cafe also offers storage but they are located 100m down hill from the bottom of the gondola, so you have to walk 100m uphill in ski boots carrying your skiis and back (downhill at the end of the day!). I was told by our rep that they are slightly cheaper than the 7 Euros per day at the top gondola station but didn't check that out.

A: "Arinsal is very casual - some [but few] dress up. High heels are not really appropriate if [like us] you have an uphill climb to your hotel in snow! I wore jeans/cords..."
