Festa Brava: Good city centre accommodation -En el centro

by spanishguy

I didn't really spent too much time in the hotel, but I liked it. My room was medium, with not too much space for the luggage, but it had a big bathroom. I was there just during the night, but I'm afraid it could be pretty dark because it had a small window facing a tiny patio.

No doubt the best thing in the hotel is a good location in the city centre and a friendly staff. This place is ideal for "urban" and window shopping tourism. There are two big parking buildings nearby.

sin duda el mejor aspecto del hotel es su excelente ubicación en el centro de la ciudad y el amable personal. El lugar es ideal para turismo "urbano" y de compras. Hay dos grandes edificios de aparcamiento cerca.

La Sona: La Solana

by littlebush

I stayed at La Solana apartments in Encamp, which is about 15mins once you’ve crossed the border, I just found them off the internet, they are just off the main road through the country, but about a 20min walk to the town centre.
But they are very good value for money.
For 28 euros per night, I got an apartment with all self catering facitilites and this had 2 beds and if you really wanted you could fit another one in! This included breakfast which was an all you can eat, so as usual I stuffed my face and got good value for money.

Pubilla: Pubilla is very good

by Room19

A little hotel near the terme, small comfortable room with phon, tv, bathtub, small parking (it's very hard parking there but the owner of the hotel helps you in the parking), good breakfast (buffet) and dinner. Very cheap, room for two with dinner or lunch and breakfast only 50 euro in summertime (July). An elevator helps you to carry the baggages in the room.

Hotel Font: Hotel to avoid

by Flying_Kiwi

Advertised as 3*, and was barely 2*. Curtains fell out the wall, shower temperature was random, non-smoking room yet everything stank of smoke. Whole place was run down, badly in need of a clean and coat of paint.

Save your money and stay in a hostel, as that's about the standard it reaches (on a good day!)

Right next door to gondola up to the ski field was the only bonus.

HOTEL DIPLOMATIC: THE WORST HOTEL IN EUROPE (IN MY OPINION)

by DAO

I stayed here in June 2005 after I reserved a room via the internet. It said it had ‘Car Parking’ – no mention of a charge. I checked in and my car was parked outside for free. The receptionist told me to park my car underneath the hotel – so I did. In the morning there was a small miscellaneous charge they could not explain and a larger one for – CAR PARKING! When I tried to question this a large man appeared and explained that I would pay the bill. They refused to discuss the matter with me and the big guy really intimidated me.

I wrote to them on several occasions. They have never even had the decency to even acknowledge my emails.

I am still waiting!

MY OPINION: DON'T STAY HERE. EXTRA ITEMS MAY APPEAR ON YOUR ROOM BILL LIKE MAGIC IN THE MORNING AND THEY WILL NOT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER. IF YOU COMPLAIN IN WRITING - THEY WILL LIKELY JUST IGNORE IT.

MY VERDICT:
**** DO NOT STAY HERE ****

Unique Qualities: I HAD EXTRA CHARGES OUT OF THIN AIR!

**** THE MANAGEMENT OF THIS HOTEL THREATENED ME WITH LEGAL ACTION BY EMAIL (17 MARCH 2007)****

Hotel St Gothard: Big isn't always best

by keith750cc

We stayed at the St Gothard quite simply because we were booked in at another resort and there was a cock up at the holiday company, so at the very last minute we were booked in here. A little bit of a hike uphill to reach the lift and the nightlife. The hotel itself was ok, rooms were ample and clean and the food was good ( although rolling up on the first night for dinner blotto'd didnt go down well with one or two of the staff) well it was a holiday after all. I wont give a recommendation for this hotel, simply because I thought it was a little expensive for what you got. If you dont mind paying the extra, then the hotel is fine, having said all this, its been 6 years since we were there, so its probable all changed.

Aparthotel Sant Andreu: Great accommodation

by keith750cc

We stayed at this Aparthotel twice, the first being a little more eventful than the second, in Feb 1996 we went at half term, flying out on the 5th Feb 1996, our kids were 5 and 7 years old, there was already a thick snow fall, but I think it was the 3rd day, the mountains were closed and there was an avalanche, it was about 7pm and we were in our room on the second floor, when we heard the most tremendous bang, doors flew open etc, we had been hit by the blast from the Avalanche 200 yds up the hill. The Manager and staff of the hotel, ran around to calm the situation, and the only damage to the hotel was a lamp post had broken a window and the front doors slightly. The staff took in people from the Hotel higher up, Rocky mountain, they made sure the kids had food and had videos to watch, face painting, all in all they were superb.

As for the hotel, the rooms were comfortable and clean and as it was one of the cheaper hotels, probable not as plush as others, but we enjoyed 2 great weeks at the hotel with no complaints at all, it is maybe 200 yds from the lift and the same from the pubs and restaurants The hotel has a restaurant and games section, pool table etc, it has a bar also.

Great views, centrally located, friendly atmosphere a good family hotel.

Hotel Parma: Good option for budget skiing fans!

by matcrazy1

My friends, passionate skiers, following my suggestion went to Andorra for skiing in February 2006. They stayed in a 3-star Hotel Parma located in the center of ski station - Pas de la Casa. Let me share their opinion. The hotel didn't look great from the outside. The room was not very large but nice with great although compact bathroom. There was also amazing view over the mountains. Buffet breakfasts were good or even very good.

The best is location of the hotel very close to ski lifts (150 m), local restaurants and numerous pubs/bars (just downstairs). It's a ski-in, ski-out hotel. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.

My friends booked a room over 3 months before coming. They made a good deal getting 2 ski passes for a price of one and got a discount for a parking (5 euros instead of over 10 a day). They were offered 30% discount for skiing lessons but they didn't want it. They reserved only bed and breakfast for 10 days at a price of about 60 euros per room for two a day (in March). Now they are going to add dinner at a price about 10 euros per two persons a day. Shortly they were very satisfied about the hotel.

Eurotel: Nice hotel with Portuguese staffs

by jorgejuansanchez

This hotel is pleasant, situated close to the famous sauna Caldea, in Les Escaldes.
Dinner is rich, self service type, including wine. The prices for the rooms are not expensive.
The staffs are mainly from Portugal, being Andorra a country with 70 % of the population consisting on foreigners who find almost impossible to get the nationality due to the Andorra immigration regulations (the truth is that they do not like foreigners to become Andorrans). Although the official language is Catalan, only a minority use it. Instead, everybody, without exception, speaks Spanish which is the main language spoken in the whole country. French is the principal language in the area close to Pas de la Casa, at the border with France, while in all the shops the employees understand English.

Hotel Florida: Good value for money hotel in Andorra la Vella

by Frontera2

The Hotel Florida sits on a side street a short distance from the main "centre" of Andorra La Vela. It's far away enough from the main through road to offer relative peace and quiet which, as any visitor to the capital of Andorra will know (or find out!), is a blessing in disguise.

The hotel is a 3* hotel with friendly and efficient staff. Breakfast is included in all room rates and, whilst there is no restaurant as such, there is a canteen/bar offering light meals at lunch times and evenings. There is also a Turkish Bath / Sauna and fitness suite available in the evenings only, from around 18.00.

Room rates, in summer, are around 52 euros for a double room although this decreases to 45 euros if you stay for three nights or more. Prices in the winter (ie the peak season in Andorra) tend to be more expensive, by around 25%.

Rooms 600 & 601 are the two best rooms in the Hotel, located almost in the attic they are well presented and nice and peacful. (except when someone else is using the lift, if you are in room 600).

Staff at the Hotel tend to be very friendly
