The place to stay in Soldeu
If you don't want to pay out for 5* accomodation, then this is a great place to stay. It is a small hotel, probably max 10 rooms, but it is excellent.
The owner, Nick, and his staff are very friendly and really helpful. The food is very good and it was always clean and well run. There is even a band who play once a week which is well worth seeing.
Unique Quality: Nick runs an outdoor activity company called High Trax. I cannot speak highly enough of the professional team running events from the hotel. Andy and Ed are most excellent guides.
I would really recommend this hotel and activity company to anyone wanting to see more of the mountains and get involved with some outdoor activities.

The best hotel in Soldeu
Just got back from a brilliant week in Soldeu. We stayed at the Hotel Roc de Sant Miquel which was excellent - the best value in town offering the best rates with clean, comfortable warm rooms. They've got a lively bar with friendly staff, good music with a band playing one night a week, an Elvis night (who we thought might be a bit lame but turned out to be a right laugh) and a "snowboarders party" on thursday night with DJ's, raffle for a snowboard, drinking games etc...They're walking distance to the main gondola station for access to some of the best slopes i've ever skied on - a huge area with really well maintained pistes.I'd recommend "The Roc" to anyone (and thanks to all of the staff for a brilliant week!)
