    This camping is in Faak am See at the south-western corner of the lake, quite a big area but without direct access to the lake.

    The campground is well equipped with all what is needed for a comfortable stay, its disadvantage is the fact that it has no direct access to the lake - one has to walk about 10 minutes to the access belonging to this campground. For that it seems me to be quite overprized but Kärnten is in general an expensive area.

    We planned from the beginning an overnight sttop at the Glocknerstrasse simply because the traffic in the middle of the day reminds of an Autobahn in rush-hours. The mornings and the later afternoons are quiet and far more enjoyable and for the middle of the day it is the best to envisage a hike away from the crowded road.

    The Gasthaus Fuscherlacke is ideally situated betweeen the both highest points Fuscher Törl and Hochtor, short before the Hochtor whichis the border to Kärnten. We had a nice and cosy room and paid 27 Eeuro per person and nightwith a great breakfast included. I can highly recommend this place. Only 17 beds, therefore booking in advance is advisable.
