Klagenfurt to Seeboden

by doofus

Hi,

My daughter is attending the Bodypainting festival at Seeboden in July. Does anyone know if there is a bus or train going to Seeboden from Klagenfurt.

She wants to avoid an expensive taxi fare.

all help much appreciated.

I would suggest to contact the tourist office in Klagenfurt:

Klagenfurt Tourismus,
Neuer Platz 1, A-9010 Klagenfurt,
Tel.: +43 463 537 2223, Fax: +43 463 537 6218,
e-mail: tourismus@klagenfurt.at

oh, and there are various travel tips on:
http://www.bodypainting-festival.com/

On this website it says: There's a special bus shuttle from Klagenfurt Airport:
Bus shuttle transfers from the Airport Klagenfurt are organized with the platform "Carinthian Transfer". The shuttle will bring you direct to Seeboden or surroundings. It's 25 euro to be paid to the bus driver.

Yes, I did know of the bodypainting site. I had been in contact with them to discuss all this. They replied by email telling me that my daughter and her friend will have to pay 125 euros each. That was not a mistake -- they said 125 euros!!

That was hardly encouraging and that is why I posted here. I have since contacted that Bus site you mentioned and , yes, you are right, and they confirmed it. Why the organising body cannot get it right amazes me.

My daughter went last year via Salzburg. The transport arranged by the organising body was absolutely terrible. They left my daughter and her friend stranded in Salzburg.

Hello,
I think it would've been better if you had given this information in the question you asked. I took the trouble (and time) to research this for you, but you already knew!
Seems you can best contact the tourist office in Klagenfurt to ask about the public transport possibilities (bus).

Sorry I had put you too so much convenience that took up a lot of your time. I hope it was not too stressful a time and I do apologise.

I was actually hoping fr someone like a local resident would have responded.

Once again, sorry that I put you to so much time and effort.

it's okay. Why don't you email one of the VT members directly, that live in Klagenfurt?

Travel Tips for Klagenfurt

Clocks, Clocks, Clocks...

by A2002

I have noticed one thing in Klagenfurt is that there will be clocks almost everywhere around the town. Whenever I need to know what is the time then, I do not need to look at my watch. Just look up and there will be a clock around to tell me the time...

Save me the trouble of moving up the sleeves of my thick jacket for the watch... :-)

Wörthersee Mandl created the Wörthersee

by globetrott

This Wörthersee Mandl
once created the Wörthersee
according to an old ledgend the mighty Wörthersee was created by this tiny troll a long time ago. There were rich and powerful people living there and they were dancing and singing at the day before easter. In that moment a tiny troll entered the dancinghall and asked the people there to go home and think of the eastertime the other day. But the people just laughed at him. So the troll opened his small vat and all of the city was drowned and that way the Wörthersee was created...

Dreiländereck

by Maximilian21

Dreiländereck is in my opinion the best hiking in the worthersee region.
Dreiländereck lies in a three-border area and is easily accessible, which makes it one of the most attractive ski resorts in the Kärnten province. 10 km of safe and well-kept trails, a spacious parking lot for 1200 vehicles, a recently built snowboard park, an 8,5 km long sledding trail, well-kept cross-country ski trails, and a skating rink attract many tourists

To/From Klagenfurt by Train

by antistar

Klagenfurt sits on the main Vienna to Venice run, and you can get direct trains to either city. Klagenfurt is also the terminus for a branch of the Dortmund to Zagreb run, which splits at Villach in Austria, with half of the train going to Klagenfurt. This train also passes through Salzburg, Munich, Stuttgart, Bonn and Dusseldorf. The Munich trip takes about 5 hours and costs 54 euros and Vienna is about four hours away.
