Packing List
by sandravdp
Anything you like. When moving around a lot, a backpack might be more handy then a suitcase. In summer it's very warmn here, but keep in mind that rain can always fall here. In the mountains clouds can come up very quickly so bring a long that umbrella, those boots and that raincoat! Mmm maybe some suncream when you go in the mountains. Enough film is sold here to let your camera click all day :) Campings are to be found here a lot, so yes you can bring your own tent and sleeping bags if you like camping.
Minimundus is just a few km from Villach

Minimundus - the whole world in a small spot This is really a great place to go for the whole family and many times I simply passed by it without getting inside because I thought thats just for children ! This time I had a look there and was really glad that I did ! You will see great buildings from all over the world, plus lots of different small trains running through these artificial landscapes, you can spend the whole day there and enjoy this interesting place. They even have a small-scale space-shuttle starting at least once an hour, that was great !
There are several restaurants there as well and prices are moderate !
There are a lot more photos of Minimundus in the travelogues for my Klagenfurt-page!

Villach is the second largest city in Carinthia in the south of Austria, on the river Drau (Slovenian Drava) and represents an important traffic junction for Austria and the whole Alpe-Adria region. It currently has around 58,000 inhabitants.
Villach is also surrounded by the mountains of the Alps which are used for skiing in winter and hiking in summer. It is located half an hour by train or car from the border to Italy or Slovenia.
No Wins Without The Finns!

And so it was:
Risto Jussilainen, Toni Nieminen, Matti Hautamäki & Velli-Matti Lindström dominated team competition on Sunday (as if it could have been otherwise!). Japan came second and Poland third (ahead of Germany).
Furthermore, much to delight of the Croatian squad present there, Matti Hautamäki finished runner up in individual competition the previous day, Toni placed excellent 5th and Vellu 9th.

Our support team has never been so numerous and so well equipped as you can see from the above photo (from left to right: myself, Jasmina, Dani - our Austrian helping hand, Seni & Andreja).
