Heiruger

In Vienna, this heuriger is like a wine tavern to me.
Herige means new season wine and it is here where you can come and sample their new harvest and production.
Perchtoldsdorf has favourable location (near the thermal areas) and weather conditions, suggestive of a Pannonian climate. So much so that "Perchtoldsdorf" and "wine" have practically become synonymous over the years.
A sprig of fir bush denotes it is open for business.

The tavern food is almost sell serviced. Sumptuous buffets where you choose what you want...cold cuts in the shelves, hot food as stated on a blackboard menu. There are also lots of salads in large bottles...sliced cucumbers, sliced potato all vinegratte..
We also saw roast pork, sausages, spreads...
Spend a beautiful day in the countryside

"Close enough to Vienna"
After meeting Ursula for lunch, we decided to head out into the countryside where very few tourist venture...that's good because it's one of our "requirements" when we travel...get out and meet the locals as the saying goes. So Ursula mentioned the town of Perchtoldsdorf. Located just south of Vienna, it's a perfect place to get away from big city life, but also feel the small town charm that Austria has to offer...as well as drink wine at a heurigen.
Located in the Federal Province of Lower Austria (Bundesland Niederösterreich), Perchtoldsdorf is a popular place for recreation and excursions and is a prosperous municipality...far enough away from Vienna that is has it's own character, but close enough to benefit from tourism. And don't forget to visit one of the heurigen...drinking, eating and the love of life...it's the right place for those people who want to round off their trip to Perchtoldsdorf in the most delightful way possible.
