This last winter, snow was extremely limited in most of europe...skiiers were having a hard time trying to find resorts that could GUARANTEE the white stuff. I discovered Kaprun, a lovely little Austrian villlage, near the resort town of Zell Am See, in Austria. Near it lies the Kitzsteinhorn glacier, which guarantees snow and absolutly, wonderfully, organized conditions ALL YEAR ROUND! The slopes seem endless, are very well taken care of and anything a skiier could possibly need is supplied there, as well as in the village of Kaprun. The prices are fair, there are plenty of guest rooms and hotels available, and it is easily reached from either Salzburg, or Munich. Definitly worth a visit also in the summer!! Either bring your own, or rent. Most hotels and guest rooms can offer rental discounts to their guests at various rental shops. There is also biking available in the summer months.
