Away from the hustle and bustle of big city life is Saalbach. It's a short journey from Salzburg and picturesque Zell am See and pleasantly situated within a mountain range (see pic), Saalbach is great for its location, for enjoying an uncrowded town centre and for exploring the mountains (both walking and skiing).

While you are here it is good to go to a typical Austrian bar and check out the skittles (what do they call it in Austro-German?), another speciality is traditional slapstick Austrian dancing complete with yoddling and plenty of scenic walks!!!
